“Excellent regional food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 29, 2012

I love Ramsey's. Their food is delicious, the service is usually very good, and it's a nice casual atmosphere. The chicken livers are delicious, and the apple fritters are wonderful. Do not pass up dessert here, either -- they serve Missy's Pies, which are divine.

“A Lexington Landmark”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 15, 2012

This Ramsey's was the first of four and is the the location where company management stays and signature Missy's pies are baked. The building offers a nostalgic visit to old Lexington. But for the history it is an old and tired location, however if you can overlook the well worn interior you will be served with true Blue Grass food - a cross between Southern and Country dishes. Ask for Corn Oysters (not on the menu), slightly greasy cornmeal cakes made with creamed corn, for an example of the cuisine. Fresh vegetables are especially good during early fall "Harvest Daze", eat on the patio if weather allows.

“Ok”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 13, 2012 via mobile

Stopped here when passing through Lexington. Convenient stop off of the freeway. Atmosphere was a bit less comfortable than I expected and quite noisy. Good place for kids. Good service. Food was ok, but I was not overly impressed by standard southern fare. Sautéed kale with bacon was wonderful, but honestly this was the only standout item.

“Great Homecooked Meals”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 11, 2012

This is the best place in Lexington for a homecooked meal and the Hot Brown is delicious! Fried Green Tomatoes are a must.

“Harrodsburg Road Location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 1, 2012

We usually eat at the High Street location for lunch because Gay is the BEST server, EVER!! However this particular Sunday we were looking at real estate in Jessamine County and decided to stop in this location. We both ordered the Breakfast Plate w/12 items each!! Big, I know but a value for the price and NO SHARING. We've had the same item at High Street location and it was good, however at the Harrodsburg Road location it was truly OUTSTANDING QUALITY!! We were seated after a small wait, greeted quickly by server, service was great, food arrived in a timely manner. We still love Gay at the High Street location, but we will visit this location again on her days off!!
