“Best breakfast in town.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2011

I got an egg white omelet and it was great. The atmosphere is perfect for a late morning recovery breakfast.

“Perfect Local Restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 5, 2011

I eat here regularly when in Lexington, and have never had a bad meal or experience. The vegetable options are fantastic, but are generally prepared Southern-style, so probably don't constitute a vegetarian or vegan meal. Everything is great - sandwiches, breakfast, desserts, drinks - my only complaint is the bread - not my favorite, particularly the cornbread. But it is country style, so I'm sure that's just a personal preference. Great atmosphere, and even with seemingly long lines, I have never had a long wait for a table, even with large parties. My review applies to all locations - not much difference between them.

“The Best Meat and Three I've Ever Been To”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 7, 2011

We were at Ramsey's on April 5th. It was one of the best meals I've ever had. Everyone had a great meal. I had the cajun catfish and I can't say enough good things about it. Our table also had the meatloaf, southern fried catfish and the hot brown. Everyone was extremely pleased with their order. We also had an appetizer of fried green tomatoes and it was HUGE, plenty big enough for the entire table. Save room for a dessert, they are wonderful. The prices were very reasonable, a meat and three vegetables was $11.95. Would go again at every opportunity.

“Very impressive meat & three”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 8, 2011

Love this place, it's got a good atmosphere, and plenty of menu choices to customize your meal to how you see fit. They have side specials that can be good too. For what and how much food you get, the value is outstanding. Just good southern garb in general. Like the way mamma cooked it. Grab yourself a sweet tea, relax and act like you are in the old clubhouse.

“Eat your vegetables...dammit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2010

Brown-schmown...I know the hot brown is what you're supposed to eat when you're in Lexington. But if you're in Lexington, in the summer and you're eating at Ramsey's skip the brown and order a mess of vegetables. Seriously, if you do, you're in for a treat. I had heirloom tomatoes, fresh corn, summer squash and some seriously delicious greens. Finished with a square of cornbread, I was one happy camper at the end of my meal. While there's a big myth that the trendy "slow food" movement sweeping the country started on the left coast with folks like Alice Waters, I contend it's guys (and gals) like the proprietor of Ramsey's who really own the historical rights to slow food in the US. This isn't frou-frou susion food. It's fresh, regional produce and locally raised meats. At Ramsey's they're prepared simply and they stand on their own merits...you just can't beat that concept. (And the catfish sandwich was awesome!)
