“Grand looking building, good night's sleep”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 2, 2010

I was immediately impressed with the hotel's exterior. It looks like an Appalachian mansion. The lobby is impressive for a holiday inn and the staff are helpful. It's not in the best location for getting into Lexington, but I had a good night's sleep. Didn't check out the holidome, but seemed like a plus.

This is the type of Holiday Inn that very often gets converted to a Days Inn or Quality Inn. Our room was located at the "courtyard. We had a door to the outside but so did all the smokers who were restricted from smoking in the room. They not only came out to smoke but to talk with their smoker friends all hours of the night but they found it necessary to talk loudly. This was a stay dedicated to the Keeneland Race Track so all reasonably priced rooms were taken here as well as all over town. That I got in on a late call but was also able to use my points for a three night stay should have been a warning. There were 2 heavy chairs placed on the same wall as the TV but only one could be moved into a position so that it could be watched. There being very little space to place our luggage and all their bedding and extra pillows so we used the ironing board. That door to the "courtyard" had such a huge gap that I had to shove newspapers into it to keep out the cold night air. We then pushed the one chair loaded with some pillows against the door as reenforcement. There were only two lamps which did not cover the room lighting enough to read easily. The one by the bed had efficiency bulbs that kept the light right at that table. Oh! Beware! No Elevator. We did not eat there. After I saw the rusted towel and toilet paper holders I didn't trust to eat in.
There is a Denny's, Mc Donalds and Cracker Barrel close by so we optioned for that for breakfast. PS The TV is not an LCD

Katie, was the most responsible and personable person we have meet on our trip. Thank You for making her available for us to meet. She make our stay very upbeat, even though it was very cold and winter like, not what we wanted to see south of us. It convinced us to stay at other Holiday Inns on the rest of our 2 wk adventure. Thanks again Jack and Marilyn Little Wilton NY 12831 [--]

my husband and i planned a mini getaway for valentines weekend and boy were we surprised with the amount of unsupervised children that were bein dropped off and using the holidrome facility. We never were able to use the hot tub, pool, sauna, basketball court, or arcade area, due to the fact that there were tons of young kids. we literally felt like were we at a middle school dance. ridiculous to see parents droppin their children off to use the amenties that we paid to use. i will never go back, and we hate that as this hotel doest have a wonderful holidome, just not able to use because of the high amount of traffic in and out. we ended up spending our entire time in the room. noise level was also very high, as our room was right next to a stairwell. use with caution. unless u have patience with large groups of teenagers, i recommend u stay elsewhere.

The kids enjoyed the holidome recreation area. The hotel itself is showing its age. The room was ok, beds were comfortable, but there was some dirt and stains. The exterior doorways were not locked (not safe), also our room door was very hard to open.
The location of hotel was excellent. Did recieve good rate thru Hotwire.

Nice hotel and great location - access to highways and downtown. They have a lovely pool area including a half basketball court and arcade area which was great for two teenage boys.
