“Suffolk Heaven”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 17, 2014

A truly wonderful place to visit with an excellant restaurant. There are two menus - cafe style and full a la carte. Both serve lovely food and do so with style. The building is beautiful, the terrace overlooks fields (home to donkeys, llamas and sheep) and woodlands. The lifestyle shop is stocked with great things and the saturday farmers market is not to be missed. Relaxed but professional. This place oozes style and I love it.

“Poor choices if you have dietary issues. Poor value if you don't.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed March 16, 2014

My family adore this place...it's 'local' and quite 'chi chi' (another reviewer called them up themselves...I can see why). There are very limited options if you have, fairly common, dietary issues (gluten intolerance). Even the ice-cream wasn't gluten free...very concerning source of vanilla ice-cream. So one of our party had nothing to eat. And they didn't seem to care...an attitude of 'your problem' seemed to prevail. The remainder of our party had extremely expensive cake/scones. They were ok. Not the best ever, and the small scone (single) for £3.00 was a bit hard to swallow. The service was very mixed. I didn't feel like I wanted to return - or would feel welcome to return. Clearly we didn't hit the spot for their target market. Having bought ALL our wedding 'champagne' from the vineyard several years ago - many cases worth - they clearly want our money but not our custom in the cafe - maybe we lacked the requisite longchamp bag and Chelsea tractor/ blow-dry today. But should a countryside café (it's not really a restaurant in my view...I've seen smarter national trust cafés) really be so snobby? All members of our party were disappointed by this visit and I doubt we will return in a hurry.

“Good quality lunch”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 11, 2014

This restaurant is in some ways strangely located being on a vineyard alongside farmers market/shop/farm. That said it is a beautiful spot and a really nice place to have a wander after lunch. We visited in February when weather was pretty miserable so restaurant was quite quiet. Food was good quality using lots of local ingredients and there was a nice selection of wines including of course some from the vineyard. Service was low key and pretty relaxed. Great spot for a relaxed lunch.

“You will love it here”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 11, 2014

I love the blueberry pancakes, but all the food is lovely. There is a cafe, restaurant and wonderful shop with an eclectic mix of items. Leaping Hare is part of Wyken Vineyard the grounds and gardens are wonderful. There is a fantastic farmers market on Saturday mornings

Great food, no rush to have to leave. Booking recommended as very popular getting busier as weather improves.
