In a town that looks all but abandoned, Joe (our fabulous tour guide at Hidden River Cave) directed us to Turtlini's (same place, new name). It may be the only restaurant in the town for all I know. We were greeted cheerfully about 30 minutes before closing on EASTER SUNDAY. Once we decided on the buffet, the owner came right up and asked what kind of pizza we wanted as he was going to make some new. So my son and my mother let him know their favorite toppings and he made a pizza for EACH of them for the buffet. It doesn't end there. My oldest son had the most fabulous rice casserole thing from the buffet that I praised Teresa (she and her husband own the restaurant). Come to find out it's her recipe and she was more than happy to give it to me there and then. As we are the last people in the restaurant on EASTER, they also gave us entire pizza to take to the hotel on our way out! Really down home service at this establishment. Kind, generous and no one was in a hurry to get us out of the place on a holiday. Please visit this restaurant if you are in cave country. It's simple stuff - but good people. The owners work full time jobs during the week while their son runs the restaurant. Then they work all day each day on the weekends. They see an importance in this small town and giving the folks there jobs. Everyone was kind. The restaurant was clean and the food was good.
