This is probably the very BEST Bed and Breakfast that I've ever stayed in and I've visited many around the USA. With "Chad's" help (he's a friend of the owners family), my best friend and I FINALLY arrived! lol He was so good to stay on the phone with us and be so patient as we took wrong turn after wrong turn (NOT Chad's fault). Chad met us at the car and took our bags (there were many) to settle us into our VERY elegant room! From the time I drove up, I was awe struck by the beuty. Visiting the great Beaumont Inn was truly like going back in time. I was blown away by the structure... the many pillars out front along with the most awesome grounds. The trees looked older than the Civil War. To me and my friend, The Beaumont Inn looked like Tara from Gone With the Wind! Our room was very clean and furnished with antiques. Our bathroom had a black taffeta ceiling. Our beds were some of the most comfortable that I've slept in. In the morning, we all met in the dining room where we had a surprisingly good breakfast! It was buffet style so I wasn't sure. The waitresses were SO friendly. Chad was able to give us some really good advice about where to go in the area and when we got back, we had the most delicious dinner in their restaurant (4 star) where the ladies actually had to "dress" in something presentable (no flip flops and no shorts). I'd never had a "mint julep" so the waitress went next door to the bar and had them make me one (VERY strong!). After we were done eating, we retired to the massive front porch of the house and listened to Chad tell us about the Beaumont's history. I LOVED it. Ask the to see the chair that President Roosevelt (Franklin D) sat in during the many times he visited. Just as much as we loved the atmosphere and hospitality, we loved the long, leisurely talks with Chad. We were truly sad to leave BUT we will definitely be back!
