“Nothing special, needs refurbishment.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 5, 2012

Not luxury, very basic. OK for business but not romantic, you can do better in Newcastle for little more.

This place was built after the Newcastle Earthquake so 1990 and sadly show appears not refurbished since. TV very small, Washing machine straight in the the hall. Decor very early 1990's..

Everything worked except the lift.

Not a good sleep as it was hot and there is no AC and is you open the window you hear hoons all night.

Redeemed by $6 breakfast which was very good value.

The Boulevard on Beaumont is a beautiful hotel, the rooms are nice, the king size beds are great. Very nice bath rooms with a large shower. Very clean.
You cant fault the rooms or the furnishings, they are really nice. The only downside is the noise from the street below. Double glazing is badly needed. People yelling, cars, hoons, buses (bustop right outside), streetsweepers- You hear the lot!
Very handy to all the great restaurants in Beaumont Street.

Room Tip: Take ear plugs or drink alot before bed.

i booked a room for a surprise for my partners birthday, and it was worth it... the room was a good size, nice and big, the bed was comfy enough but we were a little dissapointed that it was 2 beds pushed together not 1 big bed (this though is fairly common).
the spa was nice and the rooms clean! there was a rather bad small of stale water but we told the front desk and they fixed it, if was rainy so we couldnt sit out on the balcony but it looked on to a run down old unit... its a great location and if your after a place to crash after a night out you could do alot worse!
the bar closed early but there are plenty of other place to have a drink.
the room was nice and quiet and dark, that i liked!
the fire alarm went off about 9.00am and the staff didnt seem to mind, was a bit worrying but take it all with a grain of salt..
loved the late check out of 11 am to! and they let us check in early as the room was ready, not many places let you do that!

all in all it is a nice place to stay, and the company i had made it that much better :)

Room Tip: if your worried about noise ask for a room not facing the main road, you wont have much of a view bu...

No feedback questionnaire so they obviously don't care what their customers think! Traffic noise is horrific as there is no double glazing on the windows; TV reception is OK for about 55 seconds a minute; furniture very tired; internal maintenance standard is poor. If this place is losing money, I could sure tell them why!! The manager needs a kick up the backside.....

This hotel is located on Beaumont Street which is full of restaurants, pubs and coffee shops. It is on the edge so it is very quiet for it's location. The rooms are equipped with jacuzzi, full kitchen, washer and dryer. Clothes detergent was even included!!! The rooms are also huge with dining table and couch. AND we got this for a better price than the IBIS!
Check it out.

We were given a weekend stay 2 years ago and keep coming back. The food at the hotel resturant Sabor just keeps getting better every time we visit and they supply show bags for the kids to keep them busy.

My partner and I held our engagement at this venue and if a function is anything to go by, I wouldn't spend my money on accommodation either.
They didn't bring the correct food out (promising spring rolls and providing cut off pieces of omelette!). No tea and coffee station provided as promised, no sign downstairs advising guests where the function was, one of their staff invited his friend up to our function room (privately booked for $575) and shouted him a beer using our bar tab! We were really disgusted at what we recieved for paying over $3000. When we complained we were intially met with apologies, however upon requesting a part refund the hotel manager became quite defensive.
Do yourself a favour and never ever go there! There are plenty of great places in Newcastle that provide great accommodation.
