“Nice Stop If You Have The Time/Money”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 2, 2013

We were really looking forward to seeing rhinos and after learning that we couldn't see rhinos at Murchison Falls we decided to stop by here. This sanctuary is in a great location between Murchison Falls and Kampala and they have 15 rhinos there. The admission to the sanctuary is kind of expensive, especially considering that we were not able to see all of the rhinos (only saw 4) and that we were maybe out in the fields driving/trekking for less than 1 hour. It was still great to see the rhinos in a pretty natural habitat but be careful because it is a lot of money for a very short trip.

“Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary”

Not far from Kampala ,it is worth a visit and a chance to see the Rhinos so close. They look so harmless but one is warned not to make noise or disturb their peace. When you book in Advance you can even spend a night.

“even just passing by... a stop in this place is mandatory...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2013

I stopped at the Sanctuary a couple of times on my way to Northern Uganda. I never regretted it and I took many friends too. I loved the Rino game and the place is well organized. avoid drinks and snacks , they are expensive and not really good.
beside that, the place is really worthy a stop! beside, with our visit, we provide a small contribution to the upkeep of the Rhino, so...

“The only place to see rhinos in Uganda”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

On our way to the north, we passed by the Rhino Sanctuary. We could see a group of white rhinos and know more about them.
It takes around one hour to see the rhinos and come back. It's worth visiting them.

“Safe haven”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

OK so they are not completely wild but if they were they would be mostly dead by now. It's great to get up close but they are not pets so caution is still advised. The cafe is terrible and very expensive.
