Based on the previous positive posts, we stopped here to sample their wares. Restaurant, built in the 1990s after the original burned down, is located just off I-24, on U.S. Highway 62 in Lake City, KY. Established in the 1960s, Knoth's is casual and unassuming. We chose the no-brainer: the pulled pork plate. The fare arrived very quickly and was in goodly-sized portions -- the pulled pork, which is prepared on-site according to a several generations-old family technique, was topped with a modest amount of the original family-recipe sauce; slaw made with another family recipe-- a mustard-and-vinegar, celery salt dressing; krinkle fries, sliced white bread and a large soda. Only a fork (and napkin) are provided; a knife is unnecessary as the pork is well-pulled. We were well-pleased with the portion size, all the food offerings, and the price ($19.40 for two). Original barbeque sauce as well as a spicier version were both available at the table; and are available for sale to take home, along with the slaw dressing. For those wishing something else, Knoth's offers a limited number of other offerings like burgers and grilled cheese. And there are a couple dessert items -- soft serve ice cream cones and sundaes -- for those who still have room for more.
