“Great Location- Wonderful Hosts”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 7, 2011

Hall Place is a perfect spot for downtown Glasgow and events. We stayed there for a show at the Plaza Theater. Enjoyed ourselves so much that we stayed another day due to rains and just an excuse to explore further. Karen & Gary are super hosts and make you feel very comfortable. They gave us insight on all we needed to do and was very accomodating. Ate at couple places nearby including a wonderful little Texas steak place within walking. Their breakfast is wonderful and we truely enjoyed our stay at this very historical B&B and the great hosts that run it.

Hall Place is a lovely historic home with an a fascinating past; when Karin and Gary told me the story I was amazed. Karin and Gary are the most sccomodating hosts and make me feel right at home every time I stay at Hall Place it is like coming home. Breakfast is special treat - especially Gary's homemade waffles. Come to Hall Place and enjoy your stay....

This house has quite the story. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating. While we were eating a wonderful breakfast, they provided the history of the house...which was very interesting!! The setting is in downtown Glasgow, so there is a little small town noise, but, overall, the setting was wonderful. I would recommend Hall Place especially for travelers headed to or from Mammoth Cave

I chose this place for a night after a visit to Mammoth Cave over staying at a chain motel and am so glad I did. My nine year old daughter and I loved it. She keeps telling everyone it is the best place she has ever stayed, and she is quite a traveler. It is so nice to find a bed and breakfast that accepts children. This was her first time in one.
She and I really loved looking at all the antiques and curios. She liked the Civil War portraits and other items downstairs and loved having a pool table right outside our bedroom. I enjoyed the Shirley Temple Room and the library with the matching fainting style couches (think that's what they're called). Our room, the Theodosia, was very spacious. Wish we could have spent more than one night. Breakfast was great.
Our only regret was that the owners were away when we visited and left the property with a friend. The woman who helped them was extremely gracious and friendly, and everything went smoothly. I just wish she had been able to tell us more about the history of the underground railroad at this house, which is another reason I chose to stay here. My daughter is very interested in that time period. It was an easy and beautiful drive from Glasgow to Hodgenville and Lincoln's birthplace.
Gary and Karen, you have a special place. Guess we will have to come back sometime to meet you and enjoy the wonderful, historic yet welcoming, atmosphere again.

We stayed at Hall Place while visiting the region and, specifically, Mammoth Caves. Glasgow is a very cute town and we could not have been more pleased when we saw the house for the first time. The interior is beautiful—filled with interesting curios and alive with history. Karen and Gary made us feel right at home. The breakfasts were delicious and plentiful. Our room was spotlessly clean and well-appointed. We've stayed at a number of bed-and-breakfasts and this is one of our top three. From the moment we arrived we felt welcomed and very comfortable. In addition, there is a great game room complete with pool table and every board game you could ever want. We highly recommend the location if you're visiting the area, and can't wait to return for another stay.

We stayed two nights at this B&B to visit Mammoth Cave. The hosts could not have been more friendly and accommodating. Very good, generous breakfast--this judgment comes from someone who has stayed at a lot of B&Bs. . Hotels in the Mammoth Cave area are expensive, and I was not satisfied with many of the reviews I saw. I realized that we could stay here for less money and get a better experience. We like to stay at B&Bs, but often have difficulty finding places that will accept children under 12. Hall Place is very family friendly--my daughter loved it.

Another reviewer mentioned lots of trinkets and geegaws used to decorate. This is true--perhaps this is the "country style" of decorating. However, the rooms are immaculately clean, and the hosts are very, very helpful and hospitable. Would not hesitate to recommend.

We stayed in the two-room suite. Very nice, but found that the rooms contained a lot of trinkets and knick-knacks of all sorts on every surface possible. Interesting to look at, but overwhelming. The rec room was nice, well stocked with board games, a pool table, and large screen tv (but animal heads on the walls, toys, photos, posters, a popcorn maker all in the same room). Beds were comfy and the furnishings were quaint. The hosts were very nice and accomodating. The inn's history and decor is beautiful.
I was disappointed that they did not offer a gourmet breakfast as other reviewers have raved about. When I called to make the reservation, the host even said that they 'go all out' for breakfast, but it wasn't so. During breakfast, the host explained that they found that most guests were overwhelmed with a southern breakfast with ham and eggs, etc, so they have changed the menu to be more 'northern' consisting of yogurt, fruit, pancakes (waffles, french toast on other days), and eggs.
The library is right behind the inn. Grocery store across the street.
