Advertise that they have in room Wi-Fi, sorry folks. All we got were excuses , only place to use your laptop or ipad is in the lobby. Outdated TV's , on a cold rainy day, don't expect any heat, have the thermostats in the rooms fixed so you can't get any heat. Very poor water pressure, and take a quick shower before you run out of hot water. Rooms have a musty smell to them, exhaust fans in the bathroom don't work. Other than that, the staff was wonderful, full of excuses, witch I'm sure they are just doing what they have been told to do. Park Manager should be ashamed to call this a State Resort Park.

KDV SRP is at the gateway to Land Between the Lakes and the area of far western Kentucky. The resort lobby features floor-to-cathedral ceiling glass windows to view the fantastic vistas of Lake Barkley and the sailboats in the harbor. The rooms are spacious, clean and inviting. The king bed was very comfortable. I recommend the upper level which is on the same level as the lobby. The only knock on this resort is the lack of wireless internet in my particular room. The dining room was spacious. Customers can order off the menu or take advantage of the buffet offerings. I was here for only one night. This would be a great place to bring the family for a few days of fun and relaxation. A lot to do and see.

I stayed here with some friends during Quilt Week and it was the perfect venue. The generous space of an executive "cabin" allowed us all to be productive, but not feel cramped (2 bedrooms with 2 double beds each and 2 bathrooms). The house decor was a little outdated, but every morning housekeeping came around to change our linens and help with any issues. It is a drive to Paducah (27 miles) and you can't stay here without a car (if you intend to go anywhere). There was an outfitted kitchen, with stove and full sized fridge/freezer. The "water-saving" shower heads were a little disappointing, but the heating/cooling system worked fine and we had a wonderful location for some peace. I'd highly recommend, especially to families/groups wanting a "home away from home." We didn't try the $7.99 buffet in the main lodge, but were tempted to!

Me and the kids stayed at the lodge in the summer of 2011. Overall, it was a very nice place. The lodge was clean and grounds well kept. Our room was nice, updated, clean and had a balcony. The lodge has a pool and tennis courts, nearby is a marina, horseback riding, a water park, the Land Between the Lakes and the town of Grand Rivers. The area of Kentucky Lake and Lake Barkley is one of my favorite destinations.

Room Tip: I was really lucky and got one of the few rooms that you can park right outside your hotel room door...

The place is nice. Its a Kentucky State Park. Which means its a little dated. The scenery is exemplary. Food is good. Rooms are a little behind the times. Front desk people are awesome. Service in the restaurant is excellent. Have to comment on how nice it was to have an interactive guide on the TV cable system and a decent selection.

Room Tip: I think most rooms have a lake view but ask for it when you register.

Great buffets. Stop for a meal there while traveling past Kentucky Lake on I-24. Salad bar; several meats including fish; dessert buffet. Sit by the windows and enjoy the lake overlook. Special weekends if you can catch one -- buffalo day, crawfish boil, etc.

OK, first off !!!!ALERT!!! It is in a !DRY COUNTY!. Please bring your adult beverages or pick them up in Paducah before you arrive. We stayed in one of the three bedroom cottages and it was really nice. the rooms were clean and the beds were comfy. there was a TV in each room and the kitchen had enough to cook up a basic meal. the closest walmart was about 15 min away. there is a nice patio and a grill at each cottage as well. We will be going back next year. the deco is a little played out but nothing serious.

Room Tip: Get a cottage!
