“Great place for suds!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2012

We are in Frankfort for the week for work. Out exploring and came to Georgetown because we heard it had a cool small-town vibe. Gavin's is on the corner of the square and looked intriguing so we dropped in. Very glad we did! Great draft beer menu - about two dozen beers on draft, even a couple of high-gravity. Our favorite was included: Kentucky Biurbon Barrel Ale. A fabulous local local (Lexington). Wings and beer-battered onion rings topped off a great experience. Definitely worth the short drive.

“Great atmosphere”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 4, 2012

Galvin's is a great place to grab some great food, and a few drinks. We live in Georgetown, and prefer Galvin's to some of the other chain restaurants in the area. Service is good also. Several TV's to catch up on sports and a good place to watch UK basketball games.

“Good place for a burger or sandwich”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 23, 2012

We stopped at Galvin's on a night when University of Kentucky was playing a NCAA Tournament game so it was busy. The menu is pretty typical bar/pub food but they also have pizzas. I would have tried a pizza but they were so busy that it was going to take 45 minutes. Our food was good and for how busy they were, the service was very good as well. Neat place.

“Really pleasant dining”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2011

Was in Georgetown on business with an associate and decided to try Galvin's based on the TA reviews...not disappointed at all. Prompt, courteous, and friendly service. It was between lunch and dinner, so maybe 6 or 7 other tables with customers. Didn't feel rushed to order, but didn't feel ignored either. Just the right amount of time to look over the menu to choose from many delicious sounding choices. We both settled on the chicken salad and chose the balsamic dressing after asking our waitress for her recommendation. The chicken salad was piled high on a large bed of greens with apple slices and grapes. It was absolutely delicious. I would order it again in a heart beat. It was a real treat for a great price ($7-$8). The balsamic dressing added just the right amount of tang. But the real star was the chicken salad. My only let down was the coffee. But then I like a real hearty robust cup of coffee and this was a milder roast than I usually like. But it would please my hubby and mother just fine. It was fresh and a perfect temperature and I rec. re-fills without having to ask. Obviously it wasn't too bad if I was getting re-fills.
Next time I'm in Georgetown it will be hard not to stop there again, even though I would love to try a few other local eateries.
