Convenient for Ironbridge, a friend and I stayed here for a night because we could not stay where we had intended and what a stroke of luck! Yes, some of the rooms are small but it's a very old building and small spaces and sloping floors are what comes with that but the homemade biscuits on the hospitality tray more than makes up for that - unless you really are hard to please!
Our evening meal was delicious and the wine of good quality - no plonky-type house wine here! We were particularly impressed by the fact that the sources of all meat and fish were advertised on a board in the main bar so we know where what we were eating came from and that it lived and was slaughtered humanely. There was a very nice selection of local cheeses on offer which we went for as dessert.
The current owners have been here a year and it's a tribute to their hard work that they have rescued it from what was apparently a rather run-down establishment into the real country inn that it is now. It's really worth making the drive down the narrow country lanes!
