“A Welcome Find after 13 hours on the Road”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 29, 2012

This Motel was a welcome find after driving for 13 hours on our way to the Cabot Trial. On August 12th 2012 we left Toronto on our 2 week journey across the East Coast. Prior to leaving we had made reservations for the Days Inn in Edmunston New Brunswick. Upon arriving at the Days Inn we found that they had overbooked and our confirmed reservation was not confirmed!!! After climbing back into the car we drove on looking for a place to sleep for the night.
Daigle's was a very welcome find. The polite gentleman at the front dest gave us Room No. 51 to lay our weary heads.
This Motel was not only clean, I mean the room was sparkling clean. Over the years we have stayed at many hotels and this place surpassed many of the higher end. The room smelled fresh, the linens as well as the bed spreads were clean and fresh, the beds were super comfortable and the towels were soft and white! We dropped our bags changed out of our clothes and spent a little time in the inviting pool which was also clean. On top of all that we also saved ourselves money! This place is located just off the Trans-Canada.
I only wish that on our way back home we had been able to return to this Motel. We would recommend this place to travellers on the road looking for an alternative.
The property also had some really nice private cabins available. We would return again and would suggest this place to not only couples but also families.

This is a somewhat rustic motel located in a small town; it's the only motel in the town. Pluses: clean rooms, conveniently located just off the highway, approximately midway between Maritimes and Montreal. Less expensive than motels in the next, larger, city. Minuses: very small town with nothing else to do; motel located very near border crossing between Canada and USA, so noisy, as many large trucks pass by day and at least into the night, also near train tracks. Front desk clerk on check-in was not friendly at all; clerk on check-out next day was much nicer. Restaurant is barely adequate for dinner; discount coupons are given for motel guests to have a full hot breakfast which was much tastier.

Room Tip: You might ask for a room as far away from the highway as possible to avoid hearing the trucks and tr...

Triple star CAA/AAA rated Daigles offers a restful spot for weary travellers. Located some 5 minutes south of the Trans-Canada it has both motel units and cabins - spacious and squeaky clean. Pet friendly it features lots of grassy areas for exercise. A highlight is a restaurant onsite which offers tasty family type breakfasts and dinners. Daigles is a fine example of a well run private establishment - a nice change from the chains!

Room Tip: Pet owners try the cabins.
