The Country Suites in Corbin, though directly off of I-75, is also located on the road that leads to Kentucky’s beautiful Cumberland Falls State Park, a “plus” for the many tourists heading to that lovely site. The rooms at the Inn are all very nicely appointed and very tastefully decorated. Though the complimentary breakfast is heavily loaded with sweets and other starchy foods, there is more than enough diversity to satisfy all but the pickiest individual. Room rates are reasonable if not cheap (a nearby motel proclaims in a huge sign located just across the street, rooms for almost half the price) and the staff is anxious to please. There is a small, outdoors pool and an equally small but useful guest laundry. One major drawback noted by other reviewers: though there are two floors, there is no elevator and for those on the second floor, it is necessary to lug everything up and down a curving staircase that was designed far more for beauty rather than the ease of the Inn’s patrons. Many persons who stay at the County Inn and Suites, (at least on the night that we were there), seem to be returning customers who readily accept that small inconvenience. They do not seem bothered and perhaps neither should anyone else--at least if they are not as weary from traveling as we were when we arrived!
