“My favorite place for a little piece of mind and beauty!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 10, 2012

This has been one of my favorite local spots to go to since I was a kid. There are many nature trails to go hiking and various levels. I like that I can take my dogs (on a leash of course) any time of the year and walk around Lake Nevin. The best times to go are spring and fall. They have many trees and plants there that you won't find too many other places in the area. It is quiet and relaxing and I have spent many a day writing poetry out around Lake Nevin. The geese are pretty cool to watch as well. Such a great place for all ages. You can bike along some of the paths. Also a great place to picnic!! If you go during the week it is free, but if you go on the weekend or on a holiday I think it is $5.00 a car, unless you have a membership.

“A wonderful place to take the kids!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2012

The trails in this park are very well maintained. Many of the trails are rather short and east, making it a wonderful experience for children. There are several longer and more strenuous choices as well. The visitor center is very nice and there are often great events on the weekends.

“Nice place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 9, 2012

Costs $5 per car per day. Dog friendly. Paved trails. Rotating exhibits to explore. Just be careful on the trails, as there is poison ivy in places (and ticks). It was a little confusing to find the trail heads at first, but once we figured it out it was easy to get around.

“Great hiking trails, gardens”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2012

This place is perfect for hiking. Has numerous trails from easy to difficult. Great for families with small children all the way up to experienced hikers. Also has a good gift shop and cafe. Restrooms throughout. Great gardens and scenic views, as well, of lakes and mountains. Many places to sit for breaks.

“A Treasure twenty minutes from Louisville”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2012

Whenever you need a break from traffic, smog, pollution and noise take a leisurely drive on 65 South. In about twenty minutes you can be at the expansive Bernheim Forest. There are hiking trails and labelled trees.
