“A great place to stay near Mammoth Cave National Park”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 30, 2011

The room was very spacious and clean. The walk in shower was huge, and the shower was mounted high enough for even the tallest guest. The bed was comfortable. The sound insulation is fair; guests walking in the hall outside our room were easily heard. The free wireless internet access was very good. Breakfast choices were rather limited: some cereal, hard boiled eggs and (stale) pastries. This hotel location was perfect for a visit to Mammoth Cave. With a coupon from the discount hotel guide (available at the Kentucky Visitor Center), we were able to stay for less than $40/night. That makes up for any of the small negatives!

We stayed for one night on our way back home. You can't beat the location.. It's right off the highway and nearly walking distance from Cracker Barrel and several other restaruants and gas stations. The first thing that impressed me was how new and nice everything was. New smart designs, and friendly staff. Our room was great, spacious (2 queens), flat screen TV, microwave and fridge. Everything was in new condition. We were glad they had an indoor pool. The pool isn't all that big, but serves its purpose and we enjoyed it. The beds were very comfortable (the most comfortable of the 3 hotels we stayed on our trip) and the bathroom was spacious. If we ever need to stay in that area again, this will be the place to stay.

Our room was very nice! The pool was very small & no hot tube :-( The breakfast was very good with a decent variety. We checked in early and had no issues, Kim was wonderful!!!

Room Tip: We were on the first floor & the opposite side as the parking lot, made for a nice quiet nite, n...

Pros - room was nice, clean, mattress fairly comfortable despite being very firm.
Cons - breakfast choices extremely limited. Only 2 type of cereal, both too sugary. Fresh fruit options also limited. No yogurt or bagels. Only white-flour bread & English muffins. Biggest drawback, however, was that we could hear every footstep from the room and hallway above us. Apparently NO sound insulation whatsoever. Kids were running up and down the hall above us between the pool and elevator. Could hear every door shutting. We complained 3 times to the front desk but nothing was done. I realize the front desk clerk cannot control other people's children, but the upshot of all this was that we got very little sleep and we will not stay at the Sleep Inn again.

Room felt luxurious with linens, furnishings, decor, and tall ceilings. Walk in shower was great. Breakfast had less offerings than I expected but we all left satisfied and ready to start the day. No trouble with wi-fi, staff was friendly, room was clean, pool was warm enough for kids' standards. With the rate of 3 nights of under $200, I was pleasantly surprised at the standard this hotel keeps.

First, this joint is brand new with now open signs everywhere. I don't know how Tripadvisor has 7 pages of reviews dating back to 2004 on it. I think some other motel's reviews are on here by mistake.

Fast, friendly checkin by Christina. The place is pricey but considering what most of the competition looked like, at least from outside, I see why. I had a hot tub room which appeared to be the same price as a standard room. Since Sleep Inn doesn't have bathtubs, this was a great way to do it. The hot tub worked great, plenty of hot water. The room was spacious, nicely decorated with a high ceiling, at least 10' which was a nice touch. Bed was very comfy. Flat screen TV on the wall was nice, lots of channels but some didn't have the greatest picture. Bathroom was nothing special and the shower stall was rather dark. Also the cold faucets put out warm water, not the greatest if you need a drink or brushing your choppers. Wireless signal in my room was very week, I was at the end of the hall. Biggest complaint was the HVAC unit. Quiet when just blowing air but when the compressor and outdoor fan came on for heat & cooling, it got really loud. Plus there was a nasty rattle from way inside it that certainly would keep some from sleeping. Also they had the louvers adjusted to blow the cold air on the sleeping occupants. It would take someone with a screwdriver to rotate the louvers to blow away from the bed.

Typical breakfast with hot waffles. Not enough from for everyone so I went back to my room.

Small pool area, no hot tub so if you like them to relax, get a room with one.

We stayed here for 3 nights while visiting the Mammoth Cave Park and surrounding area. It was a very nice hotel, especially when factoring in the price. The room was huge with a sitting area and a king sized bed. The staff was extremly helpful with my requests. The internet is free although I needed to use an ethernet cord as the wireless was hit and miss. There are lots of fast food restaurants in the surrounding area and it is a short drive to the park. The bathroom was nice but did not contain conditioner or a bath tub (neither of which bothered me in the least).

The pool and gym were tiny but who goes to Mammoth Cave to swim at the pool or workout in a hotel. The free breakfast was worth every penny. It did get crowded later if you waited too late but then it was free so only a negative nelly would complain. Plenty of parking and easy access from the interstate. When I go back I will definently stay here again

Room Tip: Book a suite with the seperate sitting area. Only a few dollars more and a ton more space
