At first we weren't sure if it was open or not, because there was only one car out front. But I believe this would be considered the off season since the hotel is six miles from Mammoth Cave National Park and I'm sure it's more of a summer destination. Maybe the sign out front should say something like, "yes, we're open, great rates!" Great value (we only paid $50 for the night). The hotel and rooms are a bit dated; I've been in better Days Inn hotels, but much worse also. This one, I would consider average or slightly below.
