“Local Place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2013

Recently Tripadvisor requested folks rate/review a place where they live. I'd like to review the bed and breakfast Hidden Cave Ranch. At Hidden Cave Ranch you will find plenty of room and comfort. Your hosts, Jaro and Marion, will make you feel at home and accommodate every reasonable request. They offer many extra outdoor activities like horseback riding. A family could easily make Hidden Cave Ranch their purpose for coming to this area and enjoy days of activities. There are local places within driving distances for meals other than breakfast, but you may choose to add meals at Hidden Cave Ranch which you will find hearty and tasty. I am a pastor who moved to Burkesville in the summer of 2012. Since that time I have met many people passing through our community who have stayed at Hidden Cave Ranch. My parents visited with us a few weeks ago and stayed at Hidden Cave Ranch. There is a consensus: Hidden Cave Ranch is wonderful. You will come as a guest and leave as a friend, and in time you'll be looking for the next visit.

Ok, so I live in a post card of beauty in the Rocky Mountains. I travel the U.S. for work to the tune of 100,000 miles a year. I have to admit that I am drawn to the peacefull splendor that the HCR offers to me each time I visit. The beauty of the land scape is secondary to nobility of the owners. Each time I visit I am treated like the king of kings. Jaro and Marion are the keepers tranquility in this little slice of paradise. The dogs, cats, frogs, chickens, donkeys, squirrels and horses are just a bonus. It is just home they say,Hope to see you there.

We did sleep 2 nights in Hidden Cave Ranch and we enjoyed it very much. The breakfast was the best i ever had in the States and also were the beds. The nature is very beautifull there with lakes and caves.

We were a group of ten adults convening from all directions, getting on a houseboat at Dale Hollow Lake the next day. The Hidden Cave Ranch provided a wonderful place for us to get together, eat fabulous food, and spend some time together before our houseboat trip began. The rooms were excellent, the food fantastic, and Jaro and Marion were delightful.
The location couldn't have been more perfect, and our hosts couldn't have been more accommmodating.
One word of caution........ the staircase going downstairs is dangerous. Many of us tripped one way or another on that staircase, and two of us were injured on it. Jaro says they plan to add a railing, but until then it's really not good.

Looking for a place to meet old friends, we found this gem in Kentucky. Being Dutch, the connection with the owners was immediate.
The beautiful home fit our two families perfectly. Four kids shared the Family Room with bath while the parents occupied the bedrooms down the hall, sharing the well-equipped bathroom.
We spent a evening lounging in the home's basement, enjoying the large tv and billiard table. We were able to use the refrigerator downstairs to keep snacks/drinks cold.
Jaro is a super friendly host with a talent for cooking. Breakfast was a treat each morning. HIs friendly disposition was an added bonus during our stay.
Marion was the perfect guide for the beautiful property surrounding the house. My 15-yr old daughter loved being with Marion and her many animals. Our kids enjoyed the hike to the private cave even more than the nearby Mammoth Cave! What an adventure.

My husband and I spent two days here with our two Standard Donkeys in tow before traveling to the Ky Horse Park for The National Drive. Jaro was a wonderful host(Marion was in Texas during our stay) and prepared a delicious breakfast and dinner for us. Their log home is beautiful and such a peaceful location. Our room (the quilt room) was so cozy and comfortable for us while the donkeys were bedded down in their big barn in a very large clean stall. During the day they offerend a pasture or round pen for their comfort and watching all the Curly horses in adjoining pastures.
