This is the reincarnation of Shogun of Japan on Scottsville Road. The buidling is brand new and very attractive, with dining divided into three areas - hibiachi tables, sushi bar and table dining. But "bistro?" how does that fit with the hibachi angle? This was the question I asked myself when I visited the new location, but the answer lies in the expanded menu. In the table dining area, the restaurant now offers a new variety of ambitious dishes, including seared steak, fish and lamb dishe, and pull it off pretty well. My blue cheese crusted steak was butter-soft. There is also a large bar. The sushi area is interesting, with a wall of bubbling water behind the sushi prep area. The sushi is some of the best in town.
