“Friendly staff; great for overnight road stop”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 8, 2013

Our famiy stopped here on a road trip to Michigan. The owner was very nice, and even offered to personally help us with our luggage since no luggage carts were available. The kids really enjoyed the heated, indoor pool (the water was very warm, which was very nice in December). They were renovating the lobby, so it even though it looked a little rough at the moment, it should be very nice soon. There are lots of restaurants and a Wal-Mart nearby, so Berea is a good place to stop for a road trip on I-75.

This was our 2nd time stopping. Good location 1 hour out of Lexington. Easy access off I-75. The staff is always very friendly & accommodating. Kyle was on duty this stay. The king and sofa suite has plenty of space with 2 tvs and fridge. Would recommend to others.

We received such great help with a last minute reservations. The desk clerk went out of his way to make our experience as an Elite Rewards member. We got a great breakfast and local papers to read. The king suite was very comfortable.

Room Tip: If your are an elite rewards member, ask for an upgrade.

Our stay at the Fairfield in was delightful. The room was spacious. one very comfortable king bed, and a separate sitting area with a love seat that contained a hide-a-bed and second TV. The room was very clean. Check in and out was smooth and quick. The continental breakfast was adequate with fruit, yogurt, cereal, waffles and bagels, juices and coffee options.

It's not too bad and it's a pretty good location off of the interstate, but seriously, this room just smells. It's that wet musty mildewy smell. It just reminds me of smelly socks. It's gross. For what you're paying, it's really not very nice. I stay on hotels all the time. The 'comforter' is thin and I can't sleep and I'm not one to not be able to sleep. I wish I could just leave but it's almost midnight and I can't get up to go and start the second leg of my 15 hour drive.

We requested two full beds, and we're told none were available. We received one king instead. Upon check in, which was easy, we quickly got into the room. It smelled wet and musty. There is a pull out couch off to the side. It had the worst body odor smell on it, disgusting, nasty perspiration stink. I went immediately to the front desk, and was told no other rooms were available. Then maybe there was one queen bed, and I could get a fold out cot. I asked for febreeze or disinfectant, and was given an near empty glade spray can, and an extra sheet to cover the couch. Within minutes the desk found another room with two full beds...after saying only five minutes earlier they were full. Needless to say, we moved to the other room which was cleaner and better smelling. The rooms are fair in size, with very light bedding. For a four person room, three shower towels were available. Seventeen chairs are available for the entire hotel for continental breakfast. The pool was chilly, and the hot tub was very hot..but no jets, just hot water. Berea is a nice town with quaint stores. Several other hotels in the area can compete fr your business though.

Berea, Kentucky is one of our favorite places to stop along our route from Indianapolis to Atlanta or Tampa. We prefer Marriott hotels because they are entirely smoke-free. This hotel is right off I-75, yet far enough away from the freeway so we can't hear the traffic noise. The staff is welcoming and friendly and the facility is clean and nicely appointed. Our suite had a comfortable bedroom and living room area with sofa bed - desk, 2 tvs, small fridge, and microwave. The rooms are filled with light during the day, yet can be darkened for good sleeping at night. It was just the thing for these weary travelers. It's a short drive into the lovely town of Berea for a choice of several different kinds of restaurants at dinnertime. The swimming pool looked inviting, but we were just too tired to give it a try. The hotel breakfast bar had a nice variety of food - plus fresh fruit. The dining room was clean and well monitored. It was a good start to another day of travel.
