This bed and breakfast is a church that has been convereted into two sections. The first section is a home where the innkeeper lives, and the second section, which contains three rooms, is the bed and breakfast. The bed and breakfast is located in the little town of Bellevue, KY. The location is very interesting because while the town is small, it is literally just a couple miles from Newport (aquarium, etc) and just across the river from Cincinnati. So it is no trouble to go to any Cincinnati attraction from this location. I enjoy history so I thought that the history of the church was very interesting. We stayed in the Lorreta Rose room. Parking is available outside on the street for free. The innkeeper Brenda was very nice and made sure that we had everything that we needed. Breakfast each morning was very good and included both cold and hot dishes. There are a couple of points that I will bring up just for awareness. These are not really the fault of the innkeeper at all but more of the fact that this is a very old building. First, the floors, walls, and everything squeaks when you are walking around. This would not be a problem except that one of the rooms is upstairs, and so when someone is walking around upstairs, it makes quite a bit of noise in the two downstairs rooms. That didn't bother me too much but if you had a baby or were a very light sleeper this might be an issue. Second is the stained glass windows. They are beautiful, however, of course you can't see out of them, so I had kind of a strange feeling staying in a room where I could not see outside.
I would definitely recommend this bed and breakfast to anyone visiting the Cincinnati area. If you have the extra money I would recommend the upstairs suite vs the downstairs rooms.
Pros: Good location, great value compared to Cincinnati hotels, innkeeper was very nice.
Cons: Nothing major, just the standard things that you find in a very old church / house.
Tips: There is an excellent restaurant called "Virgil's" located about 2 blocks from the bed and breakfast. Several other places to eat are right down the main street, including a fun place on the river called "Buckhead's". There is also a huge party store located down the street.
