Unique opportunity to stay in a Javenese traditional house! The interior has been very tastefully decorated to give you a boutique stay feel. The staff are amazingly attentive, very friendly and helpful. Also the driver they had arranged for us was great. Food was delicious too!

Wouldn't be a bad idea to bring some earplugs because the mosques do start early with their morning prayers, which is something you'll encounter in many Indonesian cities.

Villa Hanis is a great choice for those wishing a different experience from ordinary hotels. An original javanese house now a villa with main room + outdoor bath and extra bedroom + outdoor bath next to rice fields. We enjoyed the local style of the villa. Airconditioned.

Excellent and great value dinners. We really liked the food. Very friendly service. Breakfast was good (and we were happy to get real bacon instead of the fake bacon served in all our hotels in Malaysia and Brunei).

The neighborhood wakes up early for their morning prayers (4 am etc). After some time it quiets down.

Highly recommended as a quality choise with local flavours if you want a different kind of experience from standard hotels.

I stayed with two other friends for 3 nights and it was amazing!!! The food was great, the rooms and private pool were excellent, and the service was wonderful!!! Everyone was super nice and friendly. The rooms and private pool were clean, too. I totally fell in love with the place and would love to go back. I would recommend this place for both friends and couples. It is a calm and quiet place--just a great place if you're looking forward to some relax time!!

We where staying at this place for one week in dec - 2012. Own villa in Java-style, two bedrooms, two bathrooms, spacious area, garden, swimmingpool and a hut close to the pool. You are feeling You live in a midle of country, but still so close to the town. No noice from all the traffic only 100 meters away.
I have visited several Michelin restaurants and the restaurant at Villa Hanis deserve one star, with perfect food and realy friendly staff !
Everything was perfect !
Villa Hanis is close to the airport and close to the areas You want to visit !

I would recommend this place to all who have plans to go to Yogyakarta !

Fantastic place. a little house in the back of the garden...
The breakfast was correct - good mie goreng for the local version and toasts for the international.
The reception was great. They came to pick us up at the airport, and then managed to get us a driver for the next days.

My wife and I stayed at Villa Hanis for three nights in October while on our honeymoon. We were staying in Jogja to see the area and visit the nearby temples. We, unexpectedly, found Villa Hanis to be one of the highlights of our trip to Java as well. This place really impressed my wife and convinced her of my ability to be a travel planner extraordinaire. The biggest positives of Villa Hanis include the hospitality, the privacy, and the very authentic feel. Everything was perfect - thanks Koen and team!

I stayed here for one night with my wife, and found it to be an excellent relaxant. The villa is beautifully maintained, with a nice sized private garden and swimming pool.
The main building is traditional Jogja design with plenty of original character, added to this a great outdoor bathroom for real natural feel.
The villa is set just beside Hani's resto, where the choice of food varies from local to European, with great taste and reasonable price.
The staff are really friendly and professional, and the Villa Manager, Wanti is always on hand to assist.
The owner is a Belgium, Koen a really nice sociable host, who always has time for his guests.
It was a really relaxing enjoyable stay, and I would recommend it to anybody looking for something a little different
