“Great Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2012

I travel extensively and this is one of the bests hotels I have stayed at. It is a turn of the century hotel with tons of charm located in the heart of Old Town. Old Town has tons of restaurants and bars and there is a great convention center right across the street.

Room Tip: Ask for one of the rooms with the baconey on the 4th floor

We had a horrible experience at the Hotel at Old Town, which involved a meeting with the GM of the hotel. I waited about a month to hear back, and then my concerns were completely minimized and even misunderstood. To make matters worse, bullying tactics were used.

I cannot recommend this hotel because of the way things were handled (or not handled). If you believe in good customer service, give your hard-earned money to a company that deserves to stay in business.

The hotel is located in an old tool factory/warehouse, which adds some charm. It is modern with all the facilities you would expect.
Staff were helpful and friendly, although they were in the middle of a software upgrade when we checked in and were tearing their hair out.
Parking is free in the car park next door. The top floors are reserved hotel guests - you use your room key for access.
Room was spacious and clean. Great HDTV and free wifi.
The hotel is decorated in an old style and 1930s music plays in the elevator etc. There is a large atrium with a lounge on the ground floor. Good fitness room upstairs and there is a guest laundry.
The bar had a nice feel and the bartender made up great cocktails.
The breakfast buffet was great. Plenty of choice and helpful staff.
Good location in Old Town. Although Old Town is a bit down market compared to Bricktown in Oklahoma City. Too many sports bars. But we would stay at the hotel again.

Great location for eating, museums, shopping. Very clean, rooms are spacious and comfy. Our room had a great view of the Museum of world treasures (go visit!!) Love the decor and the feeling of this hotel. Each room has a full kitchen which is great save money on breakfast. Will stay again!! Staff very friendly!!

I had never visited Wichita and frankly the city did not impress me but Old Town and the Hotel at Old Town definitely did. If it weren't a five hour drive I would spend getaway week-ends there often. If you are fortunate to be close enough for a week-end away, stay at the Hotel at Old Town. You will be impressed.

I've stayed here at least 7-8 times, and wouldn't stay anywhere else in Wichita! You can walk to all the fun little spots in Old Town. The parking is free, plentiful, safe and convenient. The place is spotless. The beds are comfy and sheets and towels of good quality. Excellent buffet breakfast - lots of fresh fruit and a TON of other housemase options. Service at front desk is very attentive and friendly. Rooms spacious. Free wifi. Nice little workout room. Good neighborhood for runners. Quiet rooms. Price is right. Cute little lobby bar where a woman can sit by herself for a drink and not feel self conscious. Every room has a kitchenette. Great lighting in bathroom. They really thought of everything. My only single complaint is the lame blow dryers - the built-in style that is inefficient, and especially lame if you have long hair. Other than that - nothing but high praise for the place!
