“Park next door”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2012

This is a fairly new property next door to an upscale multi-use complex with stores, offices and condominiums with several lower floors available for free hotel parking. This is the hotel's only drawback as there is no direct link between the two buildings. The lobby is bright and cheery and the front desk staff helpful and accommodating within their limits (they were unable to convert Marriott Rewards points to airline mileage; I had to do that on-line or by phone later). Lacking a mini-fridge (and not being offered one) having booked only a "standard room," I asked to be placed near an ice machine as I needed to chill insulin. The staff put me right next to that first floor facility, though it was at the far end of the hall across from the fitness center and pool. The room had the usual white 3-wall and ceiling/one wall some shade of brown paint job offset by a lovely blue and green carpet with a tasteful, classically inspired overlaid square pattern. The large window overlooked a nearby sidewalk with some questionable passers-by, but I certainly felt safe. Situated next to very busy Route 54/Kellogg Ave., the room was remarkably well sound-proofed, although nearby train whistles could certainly not be ignored. The furniture was functional, although the one very small easy chair was wedged into a corner between an exterior wall and bedside table. Happily, the bedside lamps sported sockets with which I could plug in my CPAP machine.

The king-sized bed was blissfully comfortable and the bathroom amply supplied, although in order to open the bathtub drain (Why do maids insist on closing these when I'd guess 75% of lodgers take showers?), I found myself unwittingly pulling the entire stopper out of the drain.
Even at the senior rate, I found this property a bit over-priced - especially for a week-end night in Wichita, KS. I by-passed the complimentary breakfast as I was eager to be on my way the morning of my departure.

I travel ocasionaly for work and have been staying at this hotels now several times. The hotel staff is very nice and accomodating. Rooms are clean and modern and bright.
This is the only hotel I am looking forward to room service, the food from Larkspur restaurant is phenomenal.

Room Tip: Drawback is the rooms close to courtyard, very noisy when activities happen outside.

We were staying for a rabbit convention and it was a really nice place. I had a bunch of kids with me so the pool worked out well as well as the location next to the riverwalk. I don't think anyone would be disappointed staying here. The parking garage is a little goofy in it's setup, but it's free and will take a full size van which is a plus.

My son and I stayed here while attending a convention at the Century II Convention Center. The hotel was very clean and I have never seen such awesome pillows on a bed. 5 fluffy pillows on each bed. The location was also very convenient. Easy walking distance to the convention center as well as many other great downtown landmarks. The front desk staff was very friendly too.

We really found a gem with this hotel! Went to see Hunter Hayes and Carrie Underwood at Intrust Bank Arena. We were coming from TX so we weren't familiar with downtown or the hotels. The Fairfield is great. So colorful, clean and the staff is very helpful. Intrust Bank Area is easy to spot from the hotel and depending on how quick you walk, it takes 5-10 minutes on foot. A nice, direct shot. Initially we had booked a room with a king bed as that was all they had available. A few days before our stay I called and spoke to Vanessa and she was able to accommodate my request for 2 queen beds. She was very friendly and helpful. Check-in and check-out was a breeze with the staff being so nice each time. We also enjoyed the free breakfast. Ample items and again, staff was on hand keeping everything stocked and helping people with their needs. Would definitely stay here again!

Stayed here for just one night while visiting friends. Don't know if we could stay there longer, the King room was really small.

The hotel is very nice. Still feels new. Front desk staff was friendly. The lobby area is large and opens up to a gorgeous courtyard with a firepit. When we came back around 11:00 there were still lots of people enjoying the beautiful evening. Our room faced the courtyard but we heard nothing. It was very quiet.

Parking is in the garage next door. It is not attached, you have to go outside to enter the hotel, but it wasn't a big deal and I appreciated that a downtown hotel even offered free parking!

The decor was nice but as stated above, the room was small. Barely enough room to unpack a bag. I imagine the rooms with 2 beds are larger. For what we needed, a place to sleep, it worked.

The bed was VERY comfortable. Felt like we had settled into a cloud. One of the best we have slept in this year (200+ nights).

We would stay here again for an overnight but not longer.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the courtyard, ours was very quiet.

Was here for 3 weeks and the hotel was lovely, rooms very spacious and very compfy beds, the only downside for me was the bath towels.....as in most hotels always on the small side....other than that had a really great stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Greg the bar man was really great and Sophie the Breakfast lady was really nice, helpful and always cheerful and up for a quick chat :)
