“Very Nice Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2013

My wife and I spent three nights at the HRW. Beautiful location on the banks of the Arkansas River. Very helpful staff. Nice, clean room with very comfortable bedding. Delicious breakfast buffet each morning with made to order omelets, pancakes, and the best pecan waffles I've ever tasted. We would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Any room looks out over the river.

Checked they had a pool, didnt use it all weekend because of screaming kids and looked forward fo using it on Sunday night guessing that it would be quiet, Pool Closed! The staff suggested I go to the YMCA! They told me it would be closed all week! So if you want a pool check that it will be available and not shut due to a private booking.

This is my first hotel review. I felt compelled to write it because of the excellent quality of our recent stay at the Hyatt Wichita. My husband and I agreed that this was one of our most pleasant hotel stays ever (we have done quite a lot of traveling and my husband used to travel a lot in his job). The check-in and check-out process were very quick. All hotel employees were very friendly and efficient. My husband had a badly sprained ankle; a wheel chair was provided for our stay. The room was great! Our view of the Arkansas River was beautiful! I loved the toiletries provided. I wheeled my husband down the gorgeous walkway, past the waterfall/reflection pools and along the Arkansas River for a wonderful evening stroll. Afterwards we enjoyed the pool and spa. We had an excellent steak dinner and the breakfast buffet was the best we have ever had. We only stayed one night but it was a wonderful and memorable experience.

We only stayed here one night but overall were pleased with our stay. They have a lovely location right on the river so your room offers lovely views of the river, ball field and the city. This is a good choice to stay at if either staying in Wichita or just passing through.

The good: lovely large, open, modern lobby area, great staff at reception, bar area and coffee shop in the morning. Nice rooms, comfortable beds, plenty of parking in parking garage. Large rooms with fairly large bathroom. I appreciated the hair dryer not being attached to the wall. Lovely bar and restaurant

The not great: tub in our bathroom looked like an attempt to spruce it up had been made but it looked rusty around the faucet area. ( room 1017) no fan in bathroom, or not one tht I could locate a switch for, which made the bathroom quite steamy after showering. Late dinner in the bar proved good and not so good. Walleye fish sticks were very bland and had an unusual texture, wouldn't order again. The angus burger my dining partner had was very good. Perhaps I just made a bad choice. Paying for parking and wifi in your room at an upscale hotel is a pet peeve of mine. Free wifi in lobby

The good outweighs the bad by far, so I would definitely stay again

The HRW is a good HR nicely situated on the Arkansas River. The staff is quite friendly and enthusiastic, though perhaps shorthanded as front office staff not only check you in, but take your luggage to the room and park your car. The room was fine, however the LG non-HD TV stood out. Why does Hyatt cut corners on such an obvious item everyone notices? The restaurant was a huge disappointment with over-priced cuisine not particularly well prepared. The wine list prices were ridiculously high, 4 times retail! Stay here, but do NOT eat here.

We had a very complicated room block with 56 rooms which included Suites, Kings & Doubles along with special instructions. The staff absolutely "knocked it out of the park" in regards to service, hospitality and accommodations. I give the sales, valet, front desk, housekeeping, coffee shop & bar/restaurant staff an A+. I would highly recommend the Hyatt Wichita for large groups or even a simple one night stay.

We stayed at the Hyatt for a "girls trip" weekend. The location is the best in the whole town, which is large, busy, and nothing extra. Its downtown but slightly off by itself. Our room had a beautiful view of the river, which has walking/riding trails on both sides, sculpture, a nice surprise. The inside lobby is expansive and nice, very happy to see you staff, and a Starbucks inside too! We enjoyed the outside deck overlooking the water and stayed all morning.
The room was very nice, but nothing extra for a Hyatt. The bathroom was a very nice standard style, but the shower/tub looked like a renovated motel 6. But that was the only downside.
Would stay there again!

Room Tip: the north side offers great view of the river from their large windows
