“Consistently Awesome!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2013

I've been coming to this hotel for at least ten years. The service has always been awesome. Many of the employees have been here that long or longer. Teresa, at breakfast, always remembers us, and provides great service. At the bar, Nate is always welcoming and helping us make our dinner menu decisions, continuously providing great service, even when it's busy. The restaurant is extremely accommodating when altering a menu item and the food is always great with many healthy options available.
The hotel gym is great and the rooms are always clean. Thanks for making my travels pleasant, and providing familiar faces when I'm away from home. You guys rock!

First time in Wichita in many years and was surprised to find this to be the only Hyatt. Great downtown location, easy exit off Hwy 54 and right on the river. Indoor parking garage, only $8.00 to park, but they have valet parking as well. No complaints about check-in, the staff was helpful, full of information and well spoken. Unfortunately they do not have a Regency Club, but breakfast in the restaurant was very good and service was great. The hotel is well decorated with a new clean look, everything is very clean and fresh.

The step grand daughter had a school contest here.
The step daughter made reservations for us.
This is a little more up scale than we normally stay at.
This place is really fabulous.
They stayed Thursday, and Friday. Then moved over
to the Fairfield Inn because the HR was already booked
for Sat night.
We went over to the Fairfield Inn on Friday night.
There is no free breakfast, but the food at the restaurant
was excellent.
BUT the grandkid did NOT get the 12.00 grilled cheese
sandwich....LOL

Great location, nice rooms. I was disappointed that they didn't participate in the gold passport suite upgrade program, nor do they have a regency club. Free shuttle to downtown was nice and easy, almost no wait. Parking garage is quite a hike from the check in desk, especially if you have lots of bags or need to make multiple trips.

We stayed here because we got a discount for being part of a convention group. It is a beautiful place with an awesome view. The staff is super friendly and helpful.
Now for the cons. The long walks from your room to parking and back again. Full sized beds are much too small, especially if you are used to a king size bed. The toilet tank filling up after flushing wake all in room, and it went on FOREVER. The first time flushed, we wondered if the toilet was broken. Doors to rooms were loud. NOT the hotels fault, but a guy in a neighboring room would jump out of his room and poised in a karate stance every time we entered and exited our room. Make sure you have your room key to get around the hotel.
All in all, I would be happier to go somewhere there I could have complementary meals. Getting up and getting breakfast for the family was quite a chore, THEN having to pass so many people with food.

Room Tip: Go somewhere else

I stayed here for a work conference and was pleasantly surprised by the nice riverfront location. There are nice paths that run along the river on both sides, though I only ran on one side during my visit. I like a hotel where it's easy to find a place to run in the mornings without having to use a treadmill. The hotel is nice and comfortable. At $109 per night it was a bargain compared to most conference hotels we stay in. It's attached to the convention center (which is circa 1970 and looks like a flying saucer) if you're coming for a larger event. There was a minor league ballpark across the street so we had an outing for a game after the meeting and had a nice time in a rented skybox. It only takes about 10-15 minutes to get to the airport so all in all, it would be a good choice for someone who has to visit Wichita and likes the amenities of a larger hotel - nice gym and decent pool. The staff were very helpful and cheerful. An all around good stay.

Room Tip: Ask to be on the river side.

Overall the room and amenities were great but, unless you have a corporate account it will be costly because you will pay for almost everything and not cheap. 15$ per day wi-fi, 10$ for 10 minutes of internet in the "business center" etc. The staff was cordial, the room was clean and comfortable, and yes, there is a shuttle that will take you up the street to Old Town if it has no other airport duties going on. However, after a 3 day stay, a late checkout wasn't allowed so I left my lunch things in the sink on ice [lunch meat, bread, condiments], but when I came back at 11:00, my food was gone and the beds stripped. When checking out I informed the agent as to my plight and all she said was "I'm sorry sir that shouldn't have happened. Thanks for staying at the Hyatt. Here's your receipt.' REALLY!? I won't be back. There are other hotels just as nice and convenient without all the charges and they genuinely seem to care about the customer.
