“One of the best places to do an intro dive and catch a glimpse of the reef”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2012

Absolutely beautiful and certainly worth the 180bucks we paid (kinda steep, I know but then again its Australia). The ride out was choppy as you wouldnt believe but the crew were very helpful and friendly. Once at the island the lagoon is mostly protected by the elements and rather tranquil (given that hell was breaking loose outside the lagoon). It was PERFECT for snorkeling, the reef is beautiful and way more alive than the inner reef near cairns were stupid tourists always chip away at it for keepsakes and the marine life is astounding.
The island itself is a coral island, very unique and interesting. I could go on and describe for hours but I will shut up. If you ever find yourself in 1770 (that's the village name near Anges Water in Queensland) dont give it a second thought. It was brilliant.

“Diving not provided as promised”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2012

We booked our diving/snorkelling trip to Lady Musgrave Island through the Bundaberg visitors centre, we listened as they rang and confirmed that yes there would be diving available, this was followed up with an email requesting the same, when we arrived on board the next day, we were told there was no-one booked for diving and the instructor had not been booked because of this. We were gutted as we would not have chosen this trip if we had known as it was rather expensive. So if you are booked for diving - double check!!!

Unfortunately the snorkelling wasnt that great either as it was low tide so we could not swim above the coral beds as most were exposed, but had to skirt around all the formations and the hire wet suits on board were almost in shreds adding little warmth. On a nice warm day at high tide this would be great snorkelling.

“Great Crew”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 8, 2012

Choppy trip over but better coming back. Enjoyed the island and semi-sub. Service and lunch was great. One of our party had a medical issue while snorkeling. The crew responded instantly. They were very professional, helpful and caring. They were in touch often over the next few days and are still in touch months later. We thank Carolyn, Peter and the crew of 1770.
I certainly recommend the trip to Lady Musgrave Island and the reef with Lady Musgrave Cruises. Great people!

“Wonderful day”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2012

I was really apprehensive about this trip having read the comments about seasickness etc. It was rough the day we went, wtih everyone having to stay in their seats unless the crew escorted them. However we had taken Kwells the night before and an hour before we left and we were fine. ( I usually get seasick crossing the english channel!) There were quite a lot of people being sick but had they taken anything??? The crew did a good job of looking after everyone and were friendly and helpful. We were split into groups and the whole day was well organised, with opportunities to have a trip in the glass bottomed boat, the semi sub and trip to the island and of course snorkling. It was my first experience and the crew gave me useful advice and I loved the snorkingly. It is an amazingly beautiful place and well worth going to. Plenty of good food and tea and coffee. All in all I would thoroughly recommend doing this trip and give the snorkling a go if you haven't done it before.. Just make sure you take a good seasickness pill the night before and then an hour before you leave in the morning.
