“We love their food.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 30, 2012

We have been coming here for years about two times a month and love the food. Only one time was I a little disappointed and that was because the food wasn't really hot when it came to the table, but that was "years" ago. I love the Rio Grande burritto which has pork chunks and beans inside with lots of cheese sauce and green onion on top. It comes with rice. It is the only rice at a Mexican restaurant that I have thought has been pretty good consistently.

My boyfriend tends to vary between the fish tacos, tamales, and chimichanga. He has really liked them all very much.

We love the chips and salsa which come to the table almost soon as you sit down. They keep them coming as long as you want more.

“Quite Unexpected!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 13, 2012

I would never have chosen this place based on the outside appearance, but I decided to try it out with a recent Groupon. I was pleasantly surprised after going inside. The atmosphere was refreshing and new. The fajitas and the service were good! Everyone was friendly! This place is locally owned and is worth a visit!

“Great Mexican. Best Bloody Mary in Johnson County”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 17, 2012

Flavor, flavor, flavor. Great value. Fish tacos and grilled shrimp enchiladas are stand out menu items. Be sure to ask for the hot salsa.

“Much Better Than Reviews”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 30, 2011

This is a restaurant we have frequented several times a month for the past year (so about 20+ times). Sure, the atmosphere/decor is not very authentic Mexican - heck it was decorated originally as an upscale bar & grill with dark wood & green colors. But we have found the food and service to be quite reliable (although it is accurate to describe the style as middle-of-the-road Tex-Mex.). You are always presented quickly with a bowl of warm tortilla chips along with salsa and both are refilled regularly. We have tried several decent to good entrees (chicken quesadillas & mixed taco plate) but have found the fish tacos to be excellent (sauteed Tilapia with cabbage etc.). A friend also swears by the grilled shrimp tacos. The portions are good sized, so you are getting pretty decent value. Regarding service, we have been treated well although there is some regular turnover at the front desk and occasionally you can get a matter of fact server (long time server Lynn and the lively gal who serves the bar area are just outstanding). The bar drinks & wines are nothing to write home about but they are adequate and certainly fit the setting. So if you are looking for a good, reliable Mexican spot in what is now mid-JOCO, you should give this place a try.
