But just believe your GPS and go with it.
Chicken Annie's is in the middle of nowhere and no one could possibly just run across it by accident.
However, the place was packed with a short wait, and it's huge.
There is only one thing you should get here and that's fried chicken. It's some of the best I have ever had. You can tell these chickens are different - the pieces aren't that "standard" size that you find with factory raised ones. The meat is delicious and not rubbery at all. The skin is just right. This is chicken done right.
Despite being really busy, our waitress was friendly, helpful and really cheerful.
The onion rings are the kinds you really want. Not those perfectly round, over breaded things where the onion always slips right out of the shell. These are thinly sliced, lightly breaded and served up right out of the fryer. The portions are huge, so if you order it as an appetizer, make sure you save room for your meal.
As for sides, the green beans were really good. The hot potato salad was way too vinegary for my taste.
I'm not even going to go into what my other half ordered, but it was a huge mistake. I tried to tell him, but he just wouldn't listen, lol.
There is another similar place down the road and it looked to be equally crowded.
Overall, worth going out of your way for if you find yourself anywhere in the area.
