We were in Topeka on business and really wanted a good steak dinner; but, since we had decided to drive out to the Casino, we thought that, surely, the restaurant would be decent. We went on a Thursday night, with must be SEAFOOD NIGHT. There was hardly a dish that didn't have seafood. The only beef in the place was a small amount of barbeque beef and a meatloaf that looked scary. We would have had a sandwich, but saw the words "Butcher Block" and thought we would probably at least get some kind of steak or roast beef since the price was plenty high.
I can get both those items any day at Sirloin Stockade. Instead of having 100 items that all look cheap, why not drop it down to 25 really good items, with a variety each night. Patrons are primarily there to gamble. After our dinner, we almost got in our car and left. The employees in the restaurant were very nice....doing the best they could with what was on the menu.

While staying at the Prairie Band Hotel, my sisters and I decided to visit Golden Eagle and Sax & Fox casino's. None of us won any money in the casino and the food at Golden Eagle was less than desirable. When we went back to Prairie Band we all came away winners, not to mention we had a wonderful nights sleep in their beautiful bedrooms. Their courtyard is so peaceful we enjoy the atmosphere. Among leaving our room the first day we were there, the house cleaning staff (first floor) actually stopped us to ask if we needed anything or if the hotel could be of further service to us. That meant a lot. This made our 4th trip to Prairie Band and the staff has always been extremely helpful and attentive. I doubt that we will ever go farther north on 75 Hwy than Prairie Band. Thank you for making our visit so enjoyable.

We were very disappointed with our stay at Harrah's Prairie Band casino/hotel. Our first stay there, our room in the Garden tower was beautiful, and we enjoyed it very much. This time, for the same money we were put in the Meadow tower and it was terrible. Very mediocre rooms, and dirty towels left in the bathroom from previous guests. Also, there was hair on the bathroom walls. In the room above us, small children ran wild until approximately 2:00 AM, and then at 6:00 AM we had the surprise of learning that our alarm was set to go off at that time. Their buffet is pretty good, but on Wednesday night, which is the night we were there, it is 15.00 per person because it is 'prime rib' night. Plain ol' roast beef would be a better description. Slots were terribly tight, I agree with the other reviewers who felt that had really gone downhill. It was at one time, a fun place to gamble. Just a very costly night out, and felt it was all wasted. If our accomodations had at least been special, as they were before, that would have been nice. Also, for over 200.00 per night on Friday and Saturday, you would expect a pool. It appears that they don't want to offer much of anything to do, so you have no choice but to stay in the casino. I prefer a facility with a nice pool, good shows and some decent shopping. They offer only two hot tubs and one very small, over priced gift shop. I complained very nicely at the front desk the morning of checkout regarding how disappointed we were with the room, told them of the problems, they just simply offered no resolution. We will spend our money elsewhere next time.

My husband and I have stayed a few times at the Prairie Casino. We loved the rooms and also the buffet. The steak house is a little expensive but the steaks could be cut with a fork! we are taking our adult children and their spouses and staying Saturday evening. All of our rooms were complimentary!! My husband wins all of the time and this is his favorite Casino. I don't win but he makes up for my losses. We will be visiting again in June.

My husband and I visit the casino 2-3 times a month and used to enjoy the getaway very much, but since the new addition weve noticed very few jackpots!! and very hungry machines. It takes much more money to play for any length of time and payouts are small or not at all. The staff are excellent, the food is above average, security is good, motel rooms are very nice, everything is great except the tight slots!!!!
