“Very Nice Stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2012

I was in Manhattan for a three day seminar. This was the hotel the seminar presenters had reserved.
Courteous, efficient staff on every interaction I had with them.
Houlihan's restaurant attached to the hotel, but there are far more varied and better dining options nearby.
Breakfast is served daily in Houlihan's.
Right across the street from Kansas State University, so if you have business or other dealings at KSU, it's perfectly situated. In addition, it's just a couple of miles either way on Anderson Ave to a Wal-Mart, grocery stores, several strip malls, etc.
Rooms are large, modern and clean. Wifi was strong and reliable, although the access points make you log back in each time you come back into range. Minor hassle, but understandable.
There is a pool on site, fitness room and a "business center" in the lobby if you need to print something out.
They have a shuttle if you are flying in to MHK and are not renting a car.
Full disclosure. I got a discounted rate through the seminar I attended, but I would gladly pay full price.
It's a quality, well run hotel.

This place was made for visitors to the area. Walking distance from the campus at K-State, only a few miles from Tuttle Creek Lake, and within driving distance of Ft Riley, a high end restaurant right on site, and several others close. I arrived without reservations, and was pleasantly surprised to see they had a vacancy. The hotel receptionist was polite, explained all of the amenities at check in, and offered advice on the local area food. My room was on the 5th floor, and offered a view of the old “castle-looking” stadium across the street. The bed was super soft, and contributed to an excellent night sleep. The dresser, nightstands, and desk were all matching in wood tones, and the room was in good repair. The bathroom was small, and didn’t offer much counter space, but; had all of the essentials. The towels were typical white hotel towels, but they smelled really clean and didn’t irritate my sunburn. Over all this was a very good place to stay in Manhattan. Unlike some of the other hotels in town, Holiday Inn was as welcoming to a veteran as a business person, or college student. Although not advertized, there is an uncomfortable anti-military sentiment at some hotels and restaurants around parts of Manhattan. My experience at this hotel was entirely positive. I was able to get a good night’s sleep, and wake up ready to address the business matters that brought me to Manhattan.

Room Tip: Call ahead with reservations between August and May. I am told this place is very busy during the sc...

We have stayed here with our family of six two times in the last year and had excellent stays both times. The first night of our first stay was not good, but it wasn't the hotels fault. We had two rooms on the end of the hallway right by the fire escape (also where all the smokers frequent). It was loud, woke up the kids, all of us. But the hotel took care of it and moved us to the top level suite that was sooooo nice and spacious. It has three bathrooms, two bedrooms and a living area. Lots of room for us. We love the location too. Right near campus so we could show our kids everything from the bookstore, to the library to Aggieville without having to get into our car. We were some of the only families staying there (seems like a hotel where a lot of wedding parties stay) which was a bonus for us because most of the time we had the pool to ourselves. The only negative I found was getting to the pool wasn't the most ideal. You have to go out the fire escape stairs or take the elevator down to the first floor go through the lobby and then to the pool (both requiring stairs). It was doable for us, but last year a little difficult with a one year old in tow. Great service and excellent clean rooms!

Room Tip: If you are going to require adjoining rooms, ask about the suite, for just a little more you have a...

This is our favorite hotel in Manhattan. It's location, right across the street from K-State, is ideal and close to everything. The staff are all very friendly and most helpful. The rooms were renovated when Holiday Inn took over and the new decor is very cool.

The pool is outdoor and a nice size for a hotel pool. Having Houlihan's Restaurant in the lobby is a great convenience as well. This is always my first choice when I stay in Manhattan.

WOW!!! What an experience. From the first happy smile as I walked in the lobby to the last smile as I said my good by, I felt like family. The room was spotless adn full of amenities. The newpaper in the morning and coffee was a welcome surprise every day. I used room service daily and found it to be prompt and delicious. I would recommend staying here. It is ann experience not just a hotel stay. The ladies and gentleman at the desk deserve an extra cookie for their kindness and patience. Thank you too for Miss Nancy's kindness. This place is full of positive energy!!! just sayin...:)

I took a girls trip this Fall and I was so happy with the Holiday Inn's accomodations. There were no problems, no issues at all. Back when it was the Ramada years ago it was gross, service was poor and I hated that place. Thank goodness Holiday Inn took over. They really made it a better place. You cannot beat the location - so I am glad the quality of the stay has improved.

The hotel is clean with a great location across the street from KSU. The room was a nice size except for the bathroom. The bathroom was extremely small with a very low ceiling with almost no counter space, very odd bathroom. We had breakfast at the restaurant at the hotel, it was very good. The hotel is about two blocks from Aggieville with lots of restaurants, shops and bars.
