We were so excited to visit because we are huge Wizard of Oz fans. However, we were so, so disappointed! At first, I thought the house we entered to purchase our tickets had a connection to the Wizard of Oz. It doesn't. It is a house that displays objects and some history of Liberal, Kansas. If you are from Liberal, or have relatives who are/were, you might enjoy this. If you are here to see Dorothy's house/Land of Oz, you will wander around because you are waiting for your tour guide. The Oz "gift shop" has very little selection except for expensive "statue" type items and Christmas tree decorations. There is a little brick road that leads to a farm house. The tour guide took us into the house and discussed what some of the items were used for such as a butter churner and cobbler items. The bedroom is decorated like Dorothy's was in the movie. Other than that, the house really has no connection with the movie. Then we went into an outbuilding where the "Land of Oz" was. The young tour guide tried to make it seem fun and exciting, but the displays were out of order, so the story the guide was telling made no sense. We saw the melted witch, then as the tour continued, we passed the witch riding in the air on her broom, etc. The characters seemed as if they were made out of department store mannequins with wigs. Sadly, not resembling the movie characters at all. At the end, there were some posters, pictures, and movie memorabilia, but not enough to make it worth the time and money. Little kids would probably enjoy playing in the Munchkin Land play area, but again, there wasn't much there - an old merry-go-round, and not much else. I really, really wanted to like this place, but I really, really didn't.
