Two of us entertained clients here a few nights ago. I'd eaten lunch here a couple of years ago and had two good meals, so had high expectations for dinner, especially in light of all the laudatory reviews. We had three different appetizers and, with the exception of the Zucca Chips, they were disappointing. I was surprised at how little calamari was served. One of our clients and I had the salmon. I asked the waiter how well it was prepared and he assured us that we could order it as well done as we wished but that medium would come out with a warm, but uncooked, center. It didn’t. Both pieces of salmon came out fully cooked through and mine wasn’t that flavorful in addition to being over-cooked. The waiter did apologize and offer to bring a new piece, but we declined so as not to keep the others waiting. The four of us split two pasta dishes. They were fine, though the spicy shrimp dish seemed a little dry. I felt like they were priced appropriately for what we got, as were the Zucca Chips. I can’t say that about anything else. We certainly couldn’t complain about being ignored by our waiter. He was by often and chatty each time. It got to the point that by the end of the meal one of the clients, a lawyer from England, said it’d be good to have three buttons on the table: one for Service Needed; one for Check Please; and one for Leave us the F**k Alone. The drinks and the wine were okay but I didn’t hear anyone raving about them.
