Very friendly at the front desk and good food and service in the restaurant, stayed with a group in the hotel and all participants thought its a nice place for our future meetings

We saw no evidence of any rennovations to this property. It's in horrible shape. It's old and dirty. The bedspreads, lamps, mattresses, bathrooms, pool, mini golf were old, worn out and unacceptable. We stayed Sept. 24. Our room was like an icebox. I notified the front desk. I was told they didn't have any heat. I would have thought that this incredible rennovation would have included a heater. We froze and left as soon as we could in the morning. There is a 100% guarantee at this property. I still haven't heard from them regarding my displeasure. We stayed at the Springhill Suites the next night. It was wonderful!

I went back home - to Lawrence - this past summer with my two young children. I thought they would enjoy staying at the Holidome and having an indoor pool right outside their room. I made online - nonrefundable - reservations for a poolside room.
When I arrived - shortly after 3:00 pm, as instructed - I was told they didn't have any pool rooms available. Since my reservation was non-refundable I had no choice but to stay in the room on the back with a lovely view of the parking lot and the quickshop style store behind the hotel. During my two day stay I saw very few other people staying there and the parking lot was far from full. I have no idea why my "reserved poolside room" was not available. They offered no apologies for it either.
The breakfast - which fortunately was free for my kids - was horrible. I did not eat there the second day. I'm not fond of cold eggs and other food that's been sitting for awhile - due probably to the fact that there weren't many people around.
The next time I go back to see friends and family in Lawrence I will not even consider going back to the Holidome - even if they do a full renevation which seems to be badly needed!

A total dump. They claim that they've just finished a "complete" renovation, but all that seemed new in my room was the TV, the lamps and the bedspreads. The housekeeping left much room for improvement, as evidenced by hallway carpets that were never vaccumed during our entire stay, a room that was never cleaned on the second day of my stay and a litany of in-room problems.

My first room (in addition to being a two-bed room when my reservation was for a king -- I was told they were overbooked and I couldn't switch) was freshly made, but both beds had the covers turned back and three of the four pillows were gone. When I moved (to another two-bed room), I found the plastic cover to a razor still in the bathtub. At least that was livable. My friend down the hall didn't fare as well -- his sheets were soiled and the smells indicated fresh excrement and not simply stained sheets.

The rooms, while "just renovated" are also outdated -- the phones have dataports, but are located by the bed, rendering them useless for laptop computers. I would have stretched the phone cord to the desk, but my two-bed room didn't have a desk.

I arrived with an exhausted group that had been traveling all day.
Since the hotel is not in walking distance of ANY restaurants (or, for that matter, anything at all) and we were without cars, we all piled into the hotel lounge/restaurant which is supposed to be open until 11pm. We were at least able to eat, but were all kicked out promptly (and rudely) at 10pm.

This is also a vintage relic of that failed concept -- the holidome.
Which means a great indoor pool, but be prepared for the constant smell of chlorine and the sound of kids in the pool starting first thing in the morning. The front desk staff were all incredibly friendly but ultimately not able to solve any of our many problems. All in all -- a disaster.
