“very nice hotel near Legends”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2014

This relatively new hotel is 5 minutes from the Legends shopping and sporting venues.
The rooms are large and the beds very comfortable. Typical breakfast fare with waffles, cereals, yogurts, etc.
The ac unit did not adequately cool the room.

Room Tip: higher floors are quieter

We have been staying here several times a month to attend Sporting KC soccer games since March. It has become our home away from home. The staff is VERY friendly, the rooms are clean, beds are comfortable, breakfast is good, bathrooms are spacious with a lot of counter space. We have stayed in rooms on all three floors and never had any problems. It is such a pleasure walking through the door and being greeted by name by Duayne. They even have a free shuttle on the weekends to the Ledgends and area attractions. There is 24-hour coffee, tea, hot water for cocoa. We would highly recommend this hotel!

Good stay in good neighborhood and good breakfast:-). Bed was a little unlevel and tilted foward and manager seem concerned. No smells in room and clean:-). Will stay again. Hotel located beside racetrack but no races on the we arrived which gave us all access to pool.

Originally when I booked this hotel I thought it was attained to the Legends in Village West complex but it was not. It was not far away but you still had to drive. Although the "suite" was smaller than I expected, the room was clean and well equipped. The A/C could keep but, but just barely.

The reason we like suites is so one person can watch late night TV while the other goes to bed. The King Suite here did not have a closed off bedroom and the TV was in the bedroom part anyway so privacy was impossible. I think we differ in the definition of a "suite".

The breakfast was average, the lobby was nice and the staff was very friendly. The price (during weekdays) was very good for what you got. The weekend price was more. I suppose you are paying for the close proximity to the Legends and the Kansas Speedway.

This hotel is located in a great location. Close to Legends mall and the speedway. The staff was really friendly when we checked in. The elevator did have a weird smell to it and made a weird noise while moving. The cleanliness is lacking a little. There was a dirty washcloth still in our shower, room smelled funky, hallways needed to be vacuumed, hair and stuff floating in the pool, lots of smudges on the walls. And by the time we got to breakfast, it was a mess. Food all over the counters and cups people had used for waffle batter still sitting all around the waffle makers. Needless to say we switched hotels the second night of our stay.

Arrived in Kansas City in the middle of a 10 day multi-city/state tour.

LOCATION

The location of this hotel is very safe since it is right next to a church and surrounded by grasslands...lots of grass. There is nothing withing walking distance except the gas station which happens to be 24 hours and has snacks. If you want civilization you have to drive one exit on the highway where you will find shopping centers full of chain stores and restaurants. You are about 20 minutes from KCI (or MCI) airport and about 20 minutes from where the KC Royals play. Living in a big city area, I very much enjoyed the quiet surroundings of this hotel as you can go outside, walk around an just enjoy the sounds of the night and the smell of fresh air. Very tranquil and very relaxing.

ROOM, PRICE, CLEANLINESS and COMFORT

The price of the room was about $116 (without tax and with my AAA discount). We got a standard room with two (2) queen beds along with a pullout sofa bed, fridge and microwave. The room was extremely clean and the A/C worked great. Staff was friendly and even had my room temp with A/C on at 65 degrees when I checked in as I requested in the reservation. I was very impressed that a hotel actually reads those little comment requests!

BREAKFAST and OTHER AMENITIES

Breakfast was included in our room price but we never got up for it. So I am sorry to say I cannot give a review on the breakfast, but can tell you that the people were nice and the bill was under the door the following morning. It was also nice that there was plenty of parking and the hotel does NOT charge per day for a parking fee. We did not stay long enough to notice the other amenities of the place.

This location is great if you are looking for some peace and quiet so you can enjoy the country night. The area is safe, the surroundings are tranquil and the mood is relaxing. If you are looking to be in the middle of a noisy city with action all hours of the night, then I suggest staying in KC, MO in the middle of the city center. If you are looking for a comfortable hotel with peaceful surroundings, I HIGHLY recommend going here.

It's almost hard to imagine that I would give a great review to a hotel but this place deserves it. The room was clean. The staff was very friendly. The complimentary breakfast was very good having savory, sweet, and healthy choices. The price may be a little high for some pocket books and it's a shame we have to spend over a hundred bucks to get a clean room but it sure cuts down on the stress.
