Arrived on 01 Sep 2012. We had asked for a room on the first floor near the pool which they gave us. Not realizing we had to go down to the first floor I asked for another room, as we had a lot of luggage to tote downstairs. We were given a room on second floor, but when we went to that room we would it had not been cleaned so we went to another room which was clean. The main reason we took the second floor was that I had a ramp leading up to it and made easy to take luggage up to the room. When we tried to open the outside door with our key card it would not work. The desk clerk came and tried to open it but couldnot. She had to use a key to open it. When the desk clerk called the manager she was told it would be fixed. It was fixed with a piece of tape. Which ment that the door was unsecure. This made me feel like I should have brought my own security. On 2 Sep we went out at about 1:00 PM and returned at 6:00 PM to find our room had not been cleaned. So we had to wait for them to get the maid back in to clean the room House keeping staff came back at 6:45 PM, We were told that they thought we were checking out. Even if we were leaving it shoud have been cleaned. This hotel has three floors and only one ice machine. The breakfact was good. Stacey tried did her best to fix all problems.

Please accept my apologies that your stay with us was less than satisfactory. I deeply regret that you experienced problems with your room location and key cards. We are a bi-level property, and access to our first floor rooms via the stairwell is just a few steps down. Our 2nd floor is accessible by stairs or ramp for handicap accessibility. Our handicap accessible rooms are located on the 2nd level near the ramp for easy access. We acknowledge that this is sometimes problematic for our guests, and we are always happy to assist with carrying luggage and remaining on call to handle special requests.
I apologize that that the locking mechanism failed during your stay. It is a top priority to stay on top of maintenance issues at our Comfort Inn, especially security issues that may arise. When an exterior lock fails, we are unable to repair it through our Maintenance Team. For security purposes, the only person(s) allowed permission to service the exterior locks is the company that installed them. This keeps outside persons from having knowledge of their functionality and how to manipulate them. Very few persons are allowed access to the locking system for this reason. I apologize that we were unable to take care of this matter prior to your departure, and assure you that we repaired the lock as quickly as possible.
In addition, all access doors are closely monitored for safety 24 hours a day. We have a surveillance system in place to monitor all public areas of the hotel, including entry doors.
Again, please accept my sincerest apologies on behalf of Comfort Inn that were unable to better accommodate you during your stay. We hope to better serve you in the future.
