“Great stay for a great price!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 days ago NEW via mobile

The econo lodge was very cheap, clean and staff was extremely helpful and generous. They gave us a room upon arrival, room was newly renovated and very clean. Bathroom and showers worked great. I recommend staying here for anyone passing through Hays!

This hotel in Hays is very well managed, clean, and newly renovated. The rooms are neat, very clean, and the furnishings and fixtures are above average for this class of hotel. The manager is very kind and considerate. I would recommend it to anyone on a trip through Kansas. There are lots of stores and restaurants, and the town of Hays is charming and quaint if you have time to drive a few miles into town.

My husband and I stayed at this Econo Lodge twice recently on a trip to Colorado. We stayed on our way to and from our stay in Colorado as we traveled I 70 through Kansas. Both stays were great....in fact, on our 2nd stay, Sean, the manager upgraded our room, even though we arrived late. The beds were very comfortable, shower good and breakfast quite nice with waffles, sausage, scrambled egg patties, Danish, English muffins, toast, cereal and good coffee. If we travel this way again, we would definitely stay here again

We were moving across the country and had made a reservation at this Econo Lodge as it was on our way. We got away a lot later than we intended from our old house, and so were in Salina at about 12:30 a.m. I called the motel to ask for directions, and the proprietor kindly explained them to us and told us about how long it would take to get there. Almost immediately thereafter, I had a minor accident in the moving truck, which put us another hour or so behind. Amazingly, the proprietor called me to ask if everything was okay, as we should have arrived at the Econo Lodge by then. I've never had a call like that, even from much more expensive hotels.

We finally got to the motel at about 3 a.m., and he came out and showed us where to park our two moving trucks, smoothly checked us in, and then we collapsed at about 3:30 a.m. The room was very nice for an Econo Lodge with a comfortable bed, microwave and refrigerator, and the bathroom was clean and it had a nice shower.

He was still at the front desk when we went down for breakfast, and we enjoyed their continental breakfast, which included waffles, cooked eggs and sausage, if you want that.

I don't usually review motels, but this one was really nice for the money, and the owner went above and beyond the call of duty for his job.

we don't usually consider an Econo Lodge because they are usually pretty poor, this one was an exception. We chose it based on reviews and it was very clean, air conditioning was quiet, shower was great, it was very quiet, updating had been done on the décor, lamps and rugs. The breakfast was a typical one, coffee was good. It was a great place to stay overnight.

Tried to stay in Salina. I guess everyone else had the same idea. Found this hotel in Hays, which is about another hour west. Friendly staff breakfast was OK. For the price and situation it was fine. You get what you pay for. It this case, that was a good thing.

I thought the staff went above and beyond to make us comfortable and did not have the mind set at all of "for $65 what did you expect?"

I even got down to breakfast after it closed and when the manager saw that I was a little upset he asked what I wanted then went into the back and got it for me. The man even poured the milk for me.
