“Too bad it's gone”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 24, 2012

Cosey coffee place and light meals, but it has gone out of business. Owner retired. I miss my Saturday morning latte.

“This restaurant is now closed.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2012

Unfortunately, just a few weeks ago this great coffee house/restaurant/martini bar closed it's doors. We are hoping that a new owner will pick up the pieces and bring it back to life. While it was open the offerings of great coffee drinks combined with an awesome variety of live music made it a great gathering place. Hays is a 'college' town of sorts, but this place was able to straddle both the college crown and the more mature tastes in music.
If you are a potential restaurant owner....check this place out....it's for sale! Also, the building has its historic roots, so the 'right downtown' placement is awesome! Come and get it....we need it back!

“HORRIBLE service”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 30, 2012

I was the ONLY customer with 4 lazy employes and got no service. They were out of everything, The owner (manager?) was sitting next to me talking to a friend the whole time. Got a small piece of dessert that was very average. Potential is there but need a staff that cares.

“Martini's ~ Music ~ and Coffee ! Semolino's is FUN !”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 14, 2011

Located in historic downtown Hays, we found Semolino's. This small business is home grown and run with a hands on approach. Not only can you get a fresh presssed coffee here, but they just opened a Martini bar inside as well ! They feature about 30 different hand shaken martini's to sample. Each one is amazing and worth a try. The kitchen is small and food is made to order but very good ! A chef has just been hired to create something even more special at Semolino's. The atmosphere is VERY comfortable and features live music almost every night. The staff here is very friendly and will make you feel like your part of the Semolino family quickly. Take some time when here and check out the historic pictures on where this place actually got it's name. Very cool indeed !

“Excellent coffee and cappicino”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2011

We gave this place a try after a local had suggested it to us and we weren't disappointed. My colleague said the coffee was some of the best he had drank (he's pretty picky about it), and I (not a coffee connoisseur) thoroughly enjoyed my cappicino as it wasn't too sweet and I could still taste the yummy coffee. I now know what good cappicinos and coffee tastes like. It was in a nice old building in the downtown area and the atmosphere was very pleasant.
