“Good Chicken, Great Value”

Don't expect atmosphere or pretense -- JD's is a local's place that serves comfort food -- good fried chicken and great chicken and noodles at very reasonable prices. Not just fried chicken, a fair amount of options are served big, tasty and cheap by a friendly T-shirt clad wait staff. Busy most every day from 5:30 to 6:30, but tables are easy before and after. If you seek a step up from fast food, are craving down-home cooking and don't want to spend a lot, JD's is for you.

Talk about a place that needs a lesson on how to use seasoning. Chef Rameys worst nightmare.

“Good Chicken”

This is not "Stroud's on the Prairie" but it is still good food and value. The fried chicken is hot and moist; sides are decent, flavorful and filling. Ambiance is not the high point here as it appears to be located in a recycled fast food venue.

However, your meal packs great value as large portions of good down-home food come at a very generous price. Check JD's out for a satisfying experience just off old downtown Hays.
