It was 102 degrees with a nasty wind, construction on the main drag made it hard to find downtown, not to mention the restaurant, Fort Hays (sorry) seeming on that day like hell on earth, and an oasis appears! A huge facility, very cool ambience (made from 3 old brick buildings). The best Kolsch I've tasted anywhere outside of Cologne, Germany. Our group of 4 vegetarians found 4 different choices on the large and diverse menu, and all were excellent. NOT what I expected to find in western Kansas! This place would be cool in Boulder, Berkeley, Portland, or any hipster haven. Finding it in Fort Hays makes it even cooler!
