In planning my cross-country road trip, I stumbled upon this gem and was so intrigued with the town's story (from tornado devastation to sustainable new life) that I decided I had to stop for a night and stay in this Eco-friendly lodging. I was not disappointed. I arrived to check in and was delighted to meet my very welcoming hosts. I was given a tour of the home, and then left on my own.The staff works out of the house from 9-5 daily, so I had the whole place to myself for the night. The house is beautiful and inspiring - from organic mattress and pillows to community garden in back. The next morning I was given a tour of the county school, and a quick look at the rest of town. Also be sure to visit The Big Well (the world's largest hand dug well) - right across the street. Lots of history. If you don't know about Greensburg, make time for a stop next time you visit Kansas.
