This is a good stop for a quiet, clean, and well staffed hotel. Breakfast was hot food and well stocked.

This was our last stop on a long vacation thru Kansas, Colorado and Utah back to Missouri. Made a late reservation thru Holiday Inn 800 number and found that Garden City had a Holiday Inn Express. We pulled in at around 11:00 P.M. that night and the kids were disapointed we had not arrived earlier to swim but to there surpirise they have a 24 hr. pool. The rooms were very clean with a new smell to them. (besides the cow poo that fells the air). Breakfast was a gem with great choices of hot and cold items. The beds were the most comfortable that we slept on the whole trip and with a great selection of pillows. I am very glad we decided to pull over in Garden City, KS

This is the second time I have stayed at this HI Express. The last time I stayed in a King Executive room. It had a refrigerator, microwave and wet bar. This time I took a Standard Room with a king bed. The only differences was that the Standard Room lacked a wet bar as you entered the room, it was smaller, and it was priced much less. The standard room included a refrigerator and microwave. For the savings, who needs a wetbar when you have everything else!. The place was spotless and having been there two years ago it seemed to look almost brand new. No odors or noise from the rooms where children were staying on either side of me. The breakfast was hot with potatoes, eggs, sausage biscuits, hot cinnamon rolls, various cereals, great coffee, fresh fruit, yogurt and a variety of breads, bagels, muffins and rolls. You can't go wrong here. I used my AAA to get a discount.

There are not many choices in Garden City, KS for a "business class" hotel. This hotels offers clean rooms, free breakfast and a convenient place for an overnight stop at a reasonable price. There were two issues we encountered, one with the hotel, the other with the location. The hotel heating and air conditioning units are individual to each room and housed in the windows. The drapes are designed to not cover the airflow and thus do not shield from the sun other than the thin shear. Sunlight and parking lot lighting make the room difficult to keep dark, but for us it was not too much of an issue. The other issue, not in the control of the hotel, is the smell. The road between Dodge City and Garden City is filled with cattle feed lots, thousands of penned cattle awaiting processing. The smell of the city is something to behold ... anywhere you stay.
