“Clean and Convenient Location on Front Street”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 18, 2013

My family and I stayed at La Quinta Inn on a recent road trip. Let me begin by saying Dodge City is an agricultural/tourism western town and there aren't any offerings for four-star hotels. We didn't make reservations at any of the hotels and took a chance and walked in to this La Quinta. We were pleased that there was a room plan available which was a 2 bedroom suite. Although the layout was a little awkward, the room and linens were clean and accommodated 3 adults and one child nicely. A hot breakfast was served and offered cereal, pastries, sausage patties, a waffle maker and the usual beverages. The facility was quiet during our one night stay.

My only complaint was there was a hole in the flat sheet, and a tear in the comforter which I didn't see until it was time to go to bed. I did express this to the manager on duty and she stated that all linens in the hotel will be replaced soon. Otherwise, I would stay at this hotel again if I am in the area.

Room Tip: Quiet rooms are always away from the elevator.

Would be nice to have ice and vending on all floors. Everything else was good, as I've come to expect from La Quinta. It is on the far west end of Dodge City, but most hotels were. I hate this 200 character rule!

We stayed here for a weekend when we had a 48 hour softball tournament in town. It was a very nice hotel with a beautiful lobby. The room we stayed in had 2 queen size beds that were very comfortable. The room was spacious, clean, and cool which was great since it was 102* outside. The front desk staff was very informative and friendly and quick when we asked for more towels. We would stay here again.

We stopped in Dodge City, KS for one night...on our way from Missouri to Colorado. This hotel was very clean and was perfectly suited for our family of six...(2 queen beds and a queen pull-out sofa bed). We were very near Boot Hill Museum, and the pool was clean, the breakfast was delicious, and the staff was very friendly. We would defintely stay here again.

Room was good and cold when we arrived and clean. We stayed in a regular king room and it was a large room with everything you'd expect. I would stay here again. Located on the main road and easy to find.

Checked in and we noticed later that you could see outside into hallway. Problem was you could also see into the room from the hallway. Reported this to the front desk and they said three were no other rooms. Looks like someone had tried to break into the room at some point. Can't believe they actually were putting people in this room. We moved the next day. Never heard from the manager to apologize. Breakfast was good. Didn't have anymore problems after we got another room. Oh yeah. One other small thing. Walls are really thin. We could hear the guy coughing next door really good. Sounded like he was right there with us. Never been in hotel that could hear so easily from room next to you.

This hotel was nice and had a great breakfast. However, the room definitely wasn't as clean as I would have liked. In particular, the bathroom was on the dirty side. T here was even hair in the shower drain.

If you stay here, make sure there is a tub mat in the shower. Our 7-year-old daughter was the first one to use the shower and she fell twice. Hard. We called the front desk to inquire about a mat and they said there should have been one in the room. Since there wasn't one, they immediately brought one up.
