“Great hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2013

We stopped in Dodge City, KS for one night...on our way from Missouri to Colorado. This hotel was very clean and was perfectly suited for our family of six...(2 queen beds and a queen pull-out sofa bed). We were very near Boot Hill Museum, and the pool was clean, the breakfast was delicious, and the staff was very friendly. We would defintely stay here again.

Room was good and cold when we arrived and clean. We stayed in a regular king room and it was a large room with everything you'd expect. I would stay here again. Located on the main road and easy to find.

Checked in and we noticed later that you could see outside into hallway. Problem was you could also see into the room from the hallway. Reported this to the front desk and they said three were no other rooms. Looks like someone had tried to break into the room at some point. Can't believe they actually were putting people in this room. We moved the next day. Never heard from the manager to apologize. Breakfast was good. Didn't have anymore problems after we got another room. Oh yeah. One other small thing. Walls are really thin. We could hear the guy coughing next door really good. Sounded like he was right there with us. Never been in hotel that could hear so easily from room next to you.

This hotel was nice and had a great breakfast. However, the room definitely wasn't as clean as I would have liked. In particular, the bathroom was on the dirty side. T here was even hair in the shower drain.

If you stay here, make sure there is a tub mat in the shower. Our 7-year-old daughter was the first one to use the shower and she fell twice. Hard. We called the front desk to inquire about a mat and they said there should have been one in the room. Since there wasn't one, they immediately brought one up.

This place is just great! The room was cool when we checked in. Our bed was very comfortable. The breakfast is lavish. Location is just down the street from the historic district. Very convenient. We will definitely stay here again when we are in Dodge City!

The La Quinta in Dodge City has much to offer the weary traveler. The inside of the hotel as well as the rooms are well kept. The hotel is located next door to a good restaurant and bar. There is a pool and a BBQ area as well attached to the hotel. Staff members allowed a corgi to run all around the lobby as well as the breakfast area for quite a long time. I'm not sure if the dog belonged to a guest or an employee. Allowing a dog to roam around the hotel without a leash...is just wrong. This behavior is rude to all guests including other dog owners, but most especially to those guests who do not have dogs.

This La Quinta is absolutely the nicest property ever. La Quinta is my brand of choice and I've stayed in a lot of them. On this 21 day trip we've stayed in 10 different La Quinta motels. This property is very new. The rooms are spacious, clean and very well furnished. The breakfast is a cut above with hot items plus the standard continental breakfast fare. It has a workout room, indoor pool and guest laundry.
If you want a nicer than most place to stay, this is your choice. You can't go wrong.

Room Tip: Ask for a king suite, they are incredible. If you are a member of the La Quinta Returns program you...
