“Perfect every time”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

It is remarkable that one man Guiseppe Guilliano can maintain the atmosphere so continually over the years. it is a tribute to the man ,who never takes a holiday and is ALWAYS there to welcome and ,make everyone feel special. The food is of a continual high standard and Sunday lunch is the BEST VALUE in the midlands. The desserts are Fabulous. His wines are superb and well chosen. He knows what he is talking about. The staff are friendly and obliging, and seek your comfort. It is a compliment to the customers that the staff are stalwarts and have been there for a long time. The Wagon Wheel hosts great sponsorship nights for local Charities. Long may theu continue

“Not for me”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 4, 2013

Lived in the area for 30 years and have only visited sporadically over the years. Doesn't seem to change much and seems to be in some sort of time warp. I don't really like the atmosphere with the stuffed birds/animals and the bar and dining areas are not the cleanest I have ever been to. Despite the 'Italian' connection the food was disappointing and not really authentic Italian (some strange combinations) and I found the service unfriendly.

“Cracking steak”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2013

Last minute choice to attend the Wagon Wheel on a Saturday night knowing it can be very busy however got a table in the bar and quickly ordered food and drinks from the very good selection. I had the steak whilst my wife tucked in to the roast lamb, both came with a good selection of vegetables and were very tasty and we quickly cleared our plates. We both had deserts and I had another couple of glasses of wine and we finished with coffee. In all the bill was just shy of £60 but we came away well fed and very satisfied with our evening.
The Wagon Wheel is a dated but you cannot fault the service and as stated the food is quality and for that special meal would suggest booking a table in the restaurant, this place is a little gem, hope it never changes.

“A restaurant with a heart”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 1, 2013

Once you have visited this restaurant you will want to return time and time again. The food , the wines the whole package is phenominal. Guiseppe takes care of everything and NOTHING is too much trouble. Start off by Sunday lunch , then just keep going. It is a family run business and the staff are so welcoming and attentive. Ask for the white chocolate and Champagne mousse for dessert!!! Roast beef on Sunday lunch , carved at your table. Who could ask for more?
