“4 days Tour to lost city”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 4, 2015 NEW

We initially decided to do the tour in 5 days but finally doing it in 4.
We were a small group of 6 people and it was very nice as we were al going at the same speed. I could see other groups and my feeling was that they were not treated as well as we were. Our guide was Gabriel Sanchez from expotur and we were like his children (he is 67 years old and had a very interesting life, he has been leading groups for the past 15 years) he was always looking after our well being. Almost everyday we were the last in leaving the camp and the first group in arriving in the next one and we had a lot more time to enjoy natural pools and rivers. We could enjoy an empty ciudad perdida and take very nice pictures. Special thanks to his cook who was making every meal a moment of joy after a difficult hike.

“Lost City, Colombia”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 4, 2015 NEW

Amazing yet challenging walk, but extremely rewarding. The walk itself takes you into the heart of the Sierra Nevada jungle and is almost as impressive as the Lost City its self. I did the tour with Expotur who were fantastic. Our group was pretty big with a variety of walking paces amongst us however the guides were able to accommodate and split the group when necessary with additional guides taking the slower or faster groups.

Our guide was Gabriel, he is a very good man with a broad knowledge of the Lost City, the indigenous and the history of the land. I can highly recommend Gabriel as a guide for this trip!

“Amazing Experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 4, 2015 NEW

This has been a 4 days of super experience. Turcol organizes really good guided days with super professionals who drive the group during the trekking.
I would suggest the 4 day trip quite intensive and tough but the best choise.
Price with turcol for 4 and 5 days are the same and the additional day is lost instead of taking some relaxing time in the TNP.

“Unique experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 1, 2015 NEW

I found this very challenging but I'm not fit and over 40. it's either boiling or raining heavily - there are not many Mosquitos bugs etc to worry about just very steep and sometimes very slippery endless paths - i was with Israelis so had to do the trek camping for 3 nights which nearly destroyed me - regarding vegan food take nuts protein bars dark chocolate etc with you - the meat eaters are fed / there is a chicken option / a fish option / a vegetarian cheese option but you may end up with rice and a bit of fruit a day as a vegan if your tour is cost cutting or unaware what a meat free diet is.

This is s spectacular trek to a special place through the land of the Kogi away from electricity, mobile phone signals and wifi that's worth savouring / if recommend taking on get is your itinerary allows

“Fun Trek”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2015 NEW

I felt compelled to write a review myself because this trek is easier than I was lead to believe and not nearly as remote as you would think. Also, pare down your gear, you will be thankful for a light pack. Below are some tidbits of information that might be helpful;

- You can buy water on the trail as well as snacks
- The "hammock hotels" have bathrooms and cold running water. They also sell beer and have mosquito netting.
- The trail is well established (no bush whacking required)
- Do the shorter trip. After you have seen the lost city you will not want to spend an extra night in the jungle.
- Put an extra set of dry clothes in a garbage bag
- You will be in a group of expats for sure.

Hope this helps
