“Definately different - but great food and service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 22, 2009

Walking through the door is an experience in itself. The walls and ceiling are the Sistine Chapel - in spray paint. Whether you like it or think its bizarre - it is a great conversation piece.

The food and service are also an experience - both are excellent. Shrimp appetizers were perfectly cooked. Steaks were also exactly as ordered and incredibly tender. They include gluten free options in the regular menu. Service was knowledgeable and attentive. Wine list is good and reasonably priced. I admit to being skeptical about fine dining in Waterloo, but have no qualms about highly recommending Galleria de Paco.

“A Midwest Must Enjoy - Worth the extra miles!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 15, 2009

More than accomodating - rock star service. The food is beautifully presented and tastes even better! And then there's one continuous piece of artwork everywhere the eye can see. It truly is beyond belief.
A family owned operation and labor of love, you just don't understand the calibur of such an establishment until you see it with your own eyes and taste with your own palette.
Wine list accomodates any budget - bottles of very drinkable wine from twenty's on up, up, up to very special vintages.
I've travelled all around the world and this is as great, if not better than many big city/high dollar (pound, yen, euro, yuan) places we've enjoyed. It's not just a restaurant, it's a dining destination.
A lovely evening all the way around!

“Worth a special trip!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 17, 2008

We came from Des Moines to meet family for dinner last weekend. We were greeted and made to feel very welcome when we arrived. Our service was good. We all ordered a different menu item and were all very pleased with our selections. The presentation is very nice and the food was excellent. I ordered the filet and it was done to perfection and served with a tasty sauce. The steak came with a choice of salad or soup, garlic mashed potatoes, broccoli, and a vegetable medley which was delicious. We eat out quite often, and this was the nicest meal I've had in quite some time. It's worth visiting just to see the ceiling. We will be back.

“Food good, service/timeliness beyond poor”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2008

The uniqueness of Paco's ceiling mural is stunning, but a restaurant is a restaurant, and does require the service of food and customers. They have had well over a year to work out the kinks, and it just isn't happening. It is difficult to recommend this restaurant to traveling friends when 2 1/2 hours is required for a meal, despite the flavors shared.
