“glad I came”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2013

I like to try local dining when I travel. Decided to give Newtons a try after reading reviews. Had fish and chips - it had a lovely crisp light crust and wonderful sauce. wasn't planning on eating the chips but OMG couldn't stop once I tasted one! definitely worth a stop!

“Five Figs to Newton's”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 3, 2013

We took our college-aged daughter to lunch at Newton's; she's living nearby and had eaten breakfast there the day before. She reported that she'd had a huge breakfast for not that much money, and it was delicious: fruit-filled pancakes, bacon, eggs, potatoes. She and my husband ordered the spinach salad, which was beautifully arranged with blackberries, pecans, bacon pieces; it came with balsamic dressing and was tasty. My husband also chose the quesadilla appetizer, which was entree sized, four quesadilla wedges with chicken and three different sauces: salsa, a fruit, and a creamy tomato. He said the quesadillas were salty. I had the BLT, thick strips of bacon on a pretzel roll, and the basil coleslaw--both were excellent. Newton's was busy, with family groups and single people, young and old. The service was good, although they ran out of spoons!

“Walleye rocks!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 2, 2013 via mobile

Love the fresh flaky walleye. Breading is light and crisp. A side note- side salad was super fresh with homemade croutons and dressing. Honey vinegarette dressing was special.

“Creative presentation and great food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 31, 2013

An excellent place for a working breakfast in Waterloo. Chef serves creative approaches to expected breakfast fare. Servings are large. This is a place that doesn't serve it if it's not right, or not fresh. A great alternative to franchise fare.

“Good food, nice atmosphere”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2013

This is a cute cafe, nicely decorated. The food selection is somewhat limited but very generous portions. Especially the hash browns! We went for breakfast and received fast service.
