The hike to get to this grave of Sioux City's first bride hill is a slight challenge, but if you like history and short hikes, well here you go!

Back in the day, there were nice steps up to the grave of Sioux City's first bride. However, those steps have long since fallen down and are mostly non-existent and definitely unsafe. They aren't even worth mentioning.
You will want to wear long pants and good shoes or hiking boots. It's a steep hike to get to the destination and if you are out of shape, you might feel it the next day.
Parking is safe.
First Brides Grave is at one end of a large park called South Ravine Park. It was a grand place years ago. Now, it remains a decent place to hike but that is about it. You will want to go during the day because areas are not lit.

The first brides grave is a fun little hike, but the trails aren't maintained as well as some of the other area trails, so come expecting to go through or near many weeds. (Boots or sneakers and long pants recommended). The stairs are pretty steep, so I woudlnt recommend this hike to someone who is not in good health (but I've done it with a baby in a carrier. It's not dangerous, just steep), and there's quite a drop off at the top so don't bring kids if you're not prepared to hold hands or hold them near the grave.
Can be hard to find your way back in the dark.
